It would be just a tad below a half ct. What shape stone?I am looking online at a ring that has a center stone that is 3/8 of a carat…it is a preloved ring…
What is the equivalent of a center stone that is 3/8 of a carat? Please help, I am bad at math…
Thank you!
3/8 in inches is equal to .375 when you want to know what 'hundredths are. I think I have given you correct info.
Yes, but 3/8 refers to weight, correct? It would depend on how well-cut the diamond is? Also, ct weights are different for different gemstones. I'm asking, not telling. I'm wondering myself.

From what I can look up, 3/8 ct. will be between 4.5 mm and 5 mm. This probably won't translate to fancy shapes. Are you looking for an actual size or just an idea of how it will look?
3/8 = 0.375 which means it is just under 0.4ct
But the carat does not necessarily tell you the actual size of the diamond in mm. For example you could have a "1ct" diamond that is either smaller or larger than a perfectly cut 1 carat diamond.
Diamdb.com is a great website which you can use to compare diamond sizes:
0.37ct Round (4.67×4.67×2.82) vs 0.5ct Round (5.16×5.16×3.11)
Compare 0.37 carat Round (4.67×4.67×2.82mm) vs 0.5 carat Round (5.16×5.16×3.11mm) on actual diamond size and finger coverage (17.13mm² vs 20.91mm²)www.diamdb.com
