Can you look at this petite cathedral solitaire setting?

Hello!

I’m looking at this setting and I’m curious if the the part I’ve marked yellow (which doesn’t connect to anything) is a problem? Anyone with a setting like this have issues with that part getting caught on anything or in your hair? Appreciate your thoughts. It will hold a 1.10 carat round.

Thanks!5AFA6D83-070F-45BF-86DB-A98951B6D3BE.jpeg

I’m pretty sure that’s how it’s supposed to be. I have two rings like this. They’re called “peg heads.” So, when you get a bigger diamond (gasp!!) you can just pop in a new head. Shouldn’t catch hair, etc., as the space is wider than a hair.

^^

No, it is not supposed to connect to anything, nor does it snag/catch.

Like others have said, it shouldn’t catch on anything. I like it when those arms connect to something so I’m just going to throw this one out there for you but feel free to ignore: https://www.bluenile.com/build-your...aire-ring-platinum_7836?diamondSku=LD17268143

Here’s a similar version at JA and they do nicer prong work, especially if you ask for petite claw prongs.

I had no idea that was a thing! I learned something again. Thanks guys.

I also prefer when the "arms" attach to the basket.

However, if you are looking for a peg-head so you can upgrade in size "attached arms" wont work. So I guess it depends on what
your priorities are.
