Its a big ask I know so thank you for taking the time to look for me.
This stone was in my grandmothers jewellery box which was left to me. I like the stone and I have seen it has a colour change but dismissed Alexandrite because I thought it could'nt possibly be that. So I searched garnets and sapphires but the colours did not seem to match but when I searched Alexandrite, it seemed to tick boxes.
My grandmother also had her mothers jewellery left to her which takes me back to the late 1800's. She travelled widely.
The stone - during daylight it is a mild blue to green hue and is interesteing to watch. My opinion changed when I saw it at night when it changes under lights to a deep purple. It is 12mm and about 8 mm deep.
I would also like to add that the daytime photos are not true to colour as they are too purple. If you can advise how best to achieve a better photo please do.
Thanking you in advance and I look forward to your questions and theory's.
Alison.
