Can you think of some time where he can fit it in?

So, I got a better idea of his timeline today ... and I''m perplexed. I have no idea when he''d ever have time to fit in a proposal.

Tomorrow we leave for me hometown for the weekend to go to a wedding. It''s the wedding of a good friend so I don''t think he''ll do it there (but he may have the chance to have a little ''chat'' with my mom).

So...then on Monday he leaves to visit friends in San Francisco and will be there until Saturday morning (8/12) - my birthday.

I think I''ve made it loud and clear that a birthday proposal is a big no-no. (I want to have two seperate days to celebrate!)

So... then right after my birthday, on the 17th, he leaves for Portland and will be back the day before we leave to Costa Rica.

The day we get back from Costa Rica (Sept. 4), he is going to New York City.

Hmm, do any of you think he might be able to plan a nice proposal in there?? I''m being to feel like I''m going to be waiting a lot longer than I had anticipated.

Would he do it in Costa Rica?

honey, i love you and want to be with you for the rest of my life. will you marry me?

twenty seconds oughtta do it.

Ladykemma, you crack me up! You''re right that doesn''t take very long and that''s why I guess I''m still holding on to a shred of hope that it''s soon. But I know this is one time a guy really gets to shine in a relationship so I can appreciate if he wants to do it "right." Hearing that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me is good enough, but I know he''ll want me to have a good story to tell friends and family.

Bee, I don''t think that he''ll do it in Costa Rica for fear of something happening to the ring. I am fairly clumsy, while skiing in highschool, not only did I manage to bust of a necklace, but I managed to lose the peridot out of the ring my mother custom-designed for me. Not cool. I think both of us would be to nervous to take it on the trip given that we are going to be going surfing, rafting, traveling to three different areas, hiking and zip-lining. Not to mention the friendly monkeys who might try to snatch it away (I know that this is not really a possibility, but I''ve had nightmares about it.)

Both he and I have joked that the ''horses'' on the way to my hometown would be a perfect place. (Anyone who knows Washington - I obviously live in Seattle, but I''m going home to Spokane.) Along I-90, up on a bluff overlooking the Columbia Gorge, there is a series of iron mustang statues that are larger than life. When I was in kindergarten, my elementary school (the Evergreen Mustangs) and a local grocery store raised money to build those horses. I emptied out my entire piggybank to build those things. Now I''ve made the trip across the state countless of times, but I have never stopped to hike up to visit my horses. Today as we are driving, I just realized that we will probably get there about sunset ....

Well, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I might not get an opportunity to hop on before I leave for the weekend, but I will have ample internet at my mother''s house. Here''s to having a few wonderful proposal stories to read when the weekend''s through (yes, that means you, fishermengirly and sumbride!!!)

UGGGHHH! Another one that wants to make it "special" and "do it right!" And we are the ones paying the price for it!!!

Why can''t they just understand that it doesn''t have to be an earth shattering event? just 30 seconds of speaking from the heart!

Good luck...

if you have never been to costa rica, you are going to love it! zip lining throught the canopy of the rain forest is a trip!

there are MANY great spots there to propose, however you arent kidding about those monkeys stealing your ring.. we were on a beach and i cant remember the name of it to save my soul, but the monkeys would come down and try to empty out your beach bag in search for food. It was quite funny, but if you took a dip in the ocean and took of your ring and put it in the beach bag that could be a horrible thing.

Well, I hope he gets his act together soon, it just sucks when you have the ring, but don''t really HAVE have it! It sounds like you have enough things going on over the next couple of weekd to keep you occupied, though. And, really honestly not to be depressing here, I was thinking after reading your list of things you are doing in Costa Rica that maybe he doesn''t want to give it to you before then b/c a.) you''ll either have to take it off for the trip (which no guy wants you to do after he puts it on your finger!) or b.) risk something happening to it while you are there. I think it''s more likely that he''ll wait til you return (and hopefully it would be like THAT NIGHT or something!)

Have fun at the wedding, though! We''re all rooting for it to happen sooner!

LadyKemma''s post is exactly what I was thinking. "Will you marry me?" takes all of 2.5 seconds to say. However, maybe he is holding off until after your trip for fear that something will happen to your beautiful ring. If it were me, M would know I wouldn''t take the dang thing off ever...is this something you''d do? If so, maybe he''s holding off until after your trip so you don''t have to part with your ring for an extended period of time. Who knows...but I hope it''s soon!!!
