I know there are some very knowledgeable folks on here regarding car seats. I would go to carseat.org, but honestly, those ladies are mean and seem to judge anyone who doesn't RF until their kid is in college.

So here's my problem. B is RFing (obviously, at 8 months). He's in a BRU brand convertible (made by Safety 1st, this is basically the same thing- http://safety1st.djgusa.com/en/djgusa/safety1st/convertible-car-seats/guide-65-convertible-car-seat). The buckle strap has three slots and has to be in one of the two inner ones as long as he's RFing...so it can't be in the slot furthest out. We have it in the center slot. We also have the strap on the longest setting. The problem is it still is too short and causes the buckle tongue to dig into his legs. Any ideas on what I can do?

I am sorry I can't help but you mentioned BRU, have you taken the carseat to them? I know they have carseat workshops sometimes. I hope someone chimes in but if they don't you might check w/BRU.

I'm not personally familiar with that seat, but I know it comes highly recommended. I I we're you, I'd call the manufacturer and explain the situation. You might have straps or a buckle that are defective- too short or uneven straps or buckle. They may send you a new one if there's a problem, especially if it's under warranty (which it should be if your child is only 8 months old). Also, you might dig around and see if safety first sells longer crotch buckles...I don't know if they do or not, but maybe they might? I know Diono makes longer crotch buckles which has been so much better for my kids.

AMC, does the crotch buckle come out for the seat for adjustment? Maybe the strap is wound around itself, like how some infant seats adjust. Just a thought.

It does, and it's all the way out...

I will do that, good idea!

I haven't, but as it turns out we bought the extended warranty and found another issue besides this...so I think we will get it replaced. Problem solved :)
