Cartier Love Ring - Is it real ?

Hello, I acquired a Cartier Love Ring with all the correct inscriptions on the inside except the size. Normally you would see "750 56" which would indicate 18K and size 56 but mine says "750 8#" I have never seen anything so far similar to that on the internet... does this mean it's not a real Cartier ?

You say you acquired it? So, I assume you didn't buy it. I would return it if it was sold as genuine Cartier.

Go to Cartier's website or call them, nothing on their site has that marking. Even in older Love rings I have never seen that, not even on ebay.

The Love ring is one that is commonly made into a knock off. I've seen even better fakes than the one you are describing.

Is it from Japan? I see tons of ebay fakes from Japan.

I just bought a love ring from Cartier in July. The fact the ring has partially correct markings seems to indicate it is a fake.

I bought the ring in an online auction with another 6 rings in the group.... since it was advertised as Cartier 750 I took a chance.
I took the ring to a Cartier store and although they could not evaluate it officially (because it wasn't purchased there) she said it had all the correct markings except the 8# so she could not be sure it was real or a knockoff. I found a local jeweler who bought the other gold rings I got so I will go back to him and see if it's really 750 - 18K gold. If it's 18K gold and just a knockoff, any idea hat it might be worth ?
