My mother got this Cartier watch from my aunt about 10 years ago after she came back from a trip to Shanghai. She wants to sell it after wearing less than a handful of times. She has no idea what it's worth and neither do I. If anyone has any insight to value or if it's even something that anyone is interested in purchasing let me know. I guess at this point, i'm up for offers. I haven't listed on DB or LT because I'm not sure how much to ask.
**edited by moderator please read our policies** message me if anyone is interested and I will list.
Thank you!

It's so beautiful! Reminds me of some of the watches I've seen on 66mint. Might be worth contacting them, or Jewels by Grace to see what it might be worth.

I completely forgot about that option!
Thank you

any takers?

Oh my goodness, it's stunning. I'll take it off your hands for $500.

That looks like a substantial amount of diamonds, and it's Cartier. The value could vary so much depending on whether it's white gold or platinum, what the carat weight is, and how old it is. Have you poked around to see if you can find anything similar for sale online, just to give you a ballpark estimate? Maybe check completed eBay listings. If you want the most accurate valuation, your best bet would be to find an appraiser in your area.

Hmm, do you know if it's authentic? I know nothing about Cartier watches, but some things about it look a little off to me, like the fact that the 12 o'clock diamond is not perfectly centered over the word "Cartier", and that putting square diamonds in a round bezel means that there are gaps between the diamonds. And "Argent" usually means silver, and I don't think Cartier makes silver watches. Do you know if it's gold and diamonds, or something else? Any jeweler would let you use their diamond tester, and there are various types of gold testers too. Are there any metal stamps on the watch? I don't see any on the back of the face.

You will definitely have to have it appraised and authenticated. No one could buy it without the diamonds being tested, the metal being determined, and then the Cartier brand will add value if authentic. It likely would have to go to Cartier first. If it is not authentic Cartier, then you'd still need a reliable appraisal to determine value. Then you and buyers would have a starting place for negotations.

I'm sorry, but this watch is a fake. If you are indeed interested in understanding its "value", then you should be taking it into a Cartier store and not fishing for bites here.

Edit: I will not post the reasons why this watch is a fake.

Kama, no need for apologies.
As a matter of fact, I am about 6 hours from the nearest Cartier store so until I can ship this out or even consider to ship it out, I wanted to post a question on here since most of the ladies and gents seem to be nice and experienced enough to know high end jewelry pieces.
Why would Cartier give a crap if this isn't real by any means? You know? Hence the post.
I actually sent pictures out to 66mint as tmot suggested and Rachel was more sweet enough to look at some photos to initially determine whether or not I should ship it out. Some of us don't know and have to start somewhere. If that's what you meant by 'fishing for bites' then I guess I am indeed the fisherman

Cartier makes silver watches.

You should post why you think this is a fake if you really want to be helpful to someone honestly looking for answers.

Well for one, the CARTIER placement looks to be crooked when you look at the dial/markers. And the font is wrong, too.... But like kama_s, I suspect this OP is another troll, so I'll stop now.

I don't udberstand what's wrong with just stating reasons why you think it's fake and leaving out the snarky comment. Is this how you guys are in real life? My question was so incredulous that it justifies being assumed a troll :nono:

Look, I don't give a sh*t if this is fake or real. Im not nearly as emotional about its authenticity as some of the folks on here, obviously.
I just wanted some insight-I thought I said this on my OP.
This is listed under preloved jewels or 'fishing for baits' but yes, I'm open to takers with offers as a fake watch if someone is ok with it being a replica.
I now understand that posting an email and video is not allowed so I guess I'll have to post on DB or LT especially since 66 suggested the stones are not diamonds because there is too much fire.

Thank you to the folks that saved me the trouble of shipping the watch out for no good reason but might I suggest a book for a couple of you? Something by Emily Post, perhaps?

Hi, once you post the watch on LT or DB, just start a new thread and post your link to watch. I still think you may need an appraisal (from a local jeweler) even if it is not authentic to know what the watch is made of, etc.
