For our wedding favor to all of our guests we want to have a chilled bottle of Champagne waiting in their hotel room when they arrive. Has anyone ever done this? Do you think we should make specialized labels? Thanks,

We''re hoping to do mini bottles of cava for our wedding favors and are going to get our own labels made. I haven''t priced them up yet but if they''re too pricey we''ll make our own. I think it would be a lovely touch.

We didn't do it as favors, but we bought two cases of California champagne from a local winery with personalized labels for our second, informal reception about a month after the wedding. The labels had a photo of us from the wedding, the date, and a quote. The winery made the labels and attached them, so we didn't have to worry about that. People seemed to like the idea a lot.

ETA: This was the winery: Joseph Filippi, Rancho Cucamonga

I''ve never done this, but if I went to a wedding and found a bottle from the couple in my hotel room, I would love it. What a thoughtful idea.

I think it could potentially be a good or not so good favor depending on the circumstances. Will all of your guests be staying at a hotel? If so, will it be the same hotel? It may be difficult to get the bottles to multiple hotels. Plus, if not all of your guests are staying in a hotel, how will you give them their favors. Also, do all of your guests drink champagne? I feel uneasy about giving alcohol ic beverages as a favor because not everyone drinks for personal, religious, or medical reasons. I personally would love having a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for me, but if my mom was your guest she would think it''s a waste since she doesn''t drink.

It seems like a great idea, but a few potential problems come to mind:

If its chilled, I assume you intend them to drink it then. If so, will there be glasses provided? If you don''t expect them to drink it then, will many guests be flying and maybe unable to bring it home?

Also, will all guests be staying in the hotel, or will some not and therefore miss out on the favor?

Will the hotel let you do this? Alcohol could bring up liability issues for them. Will all rooms be occupied by adults, or could a room potentially have only underage guests (ie teenage kids)?

I''ve seen wine with personalized labels done as favors on the tables, which seems like it might avoid some of the problems you could run into with the hotel rooms, and anyone who doesn''t want theirs can easily give it to a guest who does drink.
