It seems like it''s been forever since I''ve been on here. I just wanted to check in and congratulate everyone who''s gotten married recently, as well as those who are new around here. Big congratulations on that!!

Marriage continues to be a blessing beyond measure, even when I''m frustrated with the day-to-day living with someone far less orderly than I am. All in all, that''s nothing compared to the fun we have together and the strength we get from one another.

Paul''s playing on a softball team this spring, which has been fun. I''m glad I get to see his games, whereas I couldn''t before because of the distance between us. I''ve finally settled into work and our home feels like a home we''ve lived in for what seems like years.

Isn''t it funny/odd/amazing how quickly new routines can become so comfortable and just *right?* I mean, we''ve been married not even four months yet, and we''ve both totally become accustomed to the routine of waking up together, making dinner together, cuddling on the couch, going on walks, paying bills, taking out the trash, scrubbing the toilet, whatever. It''s like marriage was just natural for us.

It''s a blessing that I just can''t explain.

So, how is everyone else doing these days?

Congratulations!!! I''m glad you''re enjoying married life!

I''m so glad to hear things are going great! Say hi to Paul for me.

J and I are unfortunately getting full blast of family drama still. My sister on my side, and his parents just aren''t letting out. They were particularly horrid just before we moved last week... His mother doesn''t seem to think he can take care of himself. Blah.

But the planning is going well and our relationship is wonderful. We''re so happy together, I wish people would see that and shut up!

Anchor, I just wanted to say how sorry I am for what''s happened between you and your sister. I''m sure with time, things will become better. Thinking of you...

Fisher,

Thanks for checking in! I can now post on this board as an official BIW. We just got engaged on Saturday and we''re SOOO happy. We''ve lived together for over a year but for some reason, it now feels a little different. Absolutely great!!! Not that it wasn''t before we got engaged but hopefully you know what I mean. I''m glad to hear that things are going so well with you and your husband.

I love being married too! It''s been just under 2 months for us and I was saying the other day that it feels more like we''ve been married for a long long time. Not in a bad way, but more like it feels so natural and right! I''m also discovering that my husband is sweeter and more supportive that I ever thought.
It''s weird since we were living together before the wedding, but it honestly does feel totally different!

We still feel like we''re camping out at my house so I''m looking forward to moving this summer into our own home.

Hi Fhisy!!! Good to hear from you :)

I''m doing good...just planning the wedding and trying to still be fully concentrated at my regular job...not as easy as it sounds (I wouldn''t be PSing if it was! hehe)

Take care,

M~

Hey Fisher!
I''ve been wondering where you were

I got married a month ago today and Hawaii was just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. (My wedding thread is on here-- check out the pics when you can) We had the reception on the 28th and all went ok, but I would have been just as happy if we hadn''t had it --- Hawaii was peaceful and calm and the reception was about the exact opposite

Anyway, I''m so glad to hear that you and Paul are doing so well and have made such a seamless adjustment to married life! We''ve been a little grumpy here getting back to "real life" (I swear I would move to Hawaii in a heartbeat -- I hate Arkansas!), but we''re happy, the boys are happy, and it doesn''t feel too different except that my name has changed and I keep forgetting to write it correctly

Anyway, you two take care and update us when you can!

haha to the grumpy phases when coming back from the honeymoon. We had the same *drop,* I guess you could call it. At the time, it was really cold outside, and I just wanted to go back to Florida.

Sometimes when someone calls me Mrs. P, I still look around a little, wondering why whoever she is isn''t responding, but then I think, "oh, that''s ME!!" It''s funny.

Have you gone through all the drama of changing over checking accounts, tax forms, social security number, all cards, and driver''s license to your *new* name? That drove me mad! It really should be a less drawn out process, I think.

As of now, our biggest *disputes* typically evolve around the same topics: what temperature to keep the house (I am cold natured to an extreme, and he is warm to the other extreme), whether or not we want to spend the money to have a fun outing on the weekends (I''m a saver, he''s not so much as I am), and about whether or not it''s time to clean the house up (I always vote it is, he always seems to think the *lived in* look is better). Heehee... If that''s all we have to *dispute,* I think we''re good to go.

But let me just ask, what is up with guys leaving cups, empty cups, just lying around? Oh it''s becoming a pet peeve of mine!!

I haven''t changed my name over yet officially and I''m getting horribly confused by being both. Dh has been teasing me about the delay and saying that I don''t really want to change my name. To which I usually snarl back that he should try it, it''s a pita! At which point he just gloats and says as the person with more college degrees in his name he''s the one who gets to keep it.

We''re in escrow to a house and I just don''t want to start the switching process mid-way through the escrow. I thought suddenly having another name might mess things up. Besides, I am sooo not looking forward to the hassle of tracking everything down.

Yeah, it''s a real HOOT. Let me tell you. I had to go rounds with my student loan people. They wanted copies of this and that and then sent them back, saying they needed MORE. Finally, I decided to just keep it under my maiden name; they don''t care who''s name is on the check, right?

Besides, two more payments and it''ll be gone, so why bother with the drama? I couldn''t believe it, but they wanted the marriage license, a check stub stating my new name, and proof of address with my name change on it. I was like, "oh please!" Getting my driver''s license wasn''t even THAT hard!!

Speaking of that, I have a side comment: The driver''s license lady wouldn''t let me include my first, middle, second middle (maiden) and last name. I had to do it like this: my first name, middle name, maiden initial, last name. I''ve been told I can change it, but I''m not sure it''s worth the line again. I''ll just wait til it''s time to change addresses because we have a HOUSE!!

Congratulations on your house, Indie! How much longer do you have to wait???
