Which ring do you prefer? Debating about putting my natural round 1.22 brilliant in setting one (perhaps doing it as a cushion halo) or doing setting two (all lab diamonds). My ring size is 4.75. Thanks!
I do not care for setting one at all. Seems like a hot mess to me tbh.
For the second option, I would definitely not wear it with the band as I think doing so kills the whole concept of a 3-stone. Three-stones are a banded look on their own and adding it is unnecessary, distracting, and looks like an afterthought imo. Less is more… and speaking of more, there’s a LOT already going on with that setting. On that note I agree with @blingy0722 100% to scrap the milgrain. If you are set on it I do like your idea of going lighter on it. Keep it very subtle. Also, most definitely keep the shank plain… the diamond and melee shank is overkill, takes away from the composition of the three-stone as the star of the show, and imo borders on tacky.
As for the option of using your natural diamond v lab grown, I will always say a million percent to use your already-owned natural. That’s a total no-brainer for me. This will prohibit you from setting #2 given it is not a shape suitable for those type of side stones. Even if you have your center round mounting in a cushion halo I do not think those side stones will work.
Would you consider this:
I saw this one under the WF custom rings...its in line with your first one but a little more coherent IMO. Flat sides of the halo
for the baguette (or traps) to line up with. Not a great picture though.
