Classy, affordable plain necklace setting for my late grandmother's engagement ring stone?

It's a small, cheap diamond from the 1970s or so, round cut solitaire, probably about 5mm large.

I'm hoping to find some plain, reasonably affordable empty pendent necklace setting to have it set in so I can wear it. Sterling silver, 14K gold, or 14K yellow gold for a necklace setting would be fine. The diamond is probably hardly nice enough to put in a 14K necklace setting. It's currently set in a 14K yellow gold plain solitaire ring.

This ring has sat in the jewelry box for decades collecting dust. It's tiny, but shines a little and has a little sentiment. It's about 5mm of a stone but set in an illusion setting so it looks larger than it is. It's not my grandmother's original engagement ring, so I'm not attached to the white gold ring band at all. I usually layer my necklaces and currently am on a fairly modern / David Yurman style kick. I have always loved vintage or antique ornate designs though too. I doubt I'll find anything but a very simple, plain setting for this. The ring fits me, but I feel wear wearing an engagement ring, and I have no plans of getting married for years-- if ever. I looked for ring enhancers to put around the existing ring, but those still looked like an engagement ring to me (or were way more than this little diamond would be worth). I don't want to buy a matching diamond to make earrings as I would be afraid of losing it.

I know it'll probably look almost silly since it's so small, so if there's a setting with a halo, I could buy some other gemstones to surround it with.

The photo of it is it next to a David Yurman petite albion ring, which isn't that huge a ring, so the diamond ring next to it is super tiny.

The necklace below is one I found on Etsy for about $300 that I'm considering. It has a diamond halo around it already.

Budget wise, a few hundred bucks or less probably makes sense since the tiny little diamond engagement ring probably isn't worth but worth that itself. If the necklace setting really could make it look nice, I wouldn't mind spending $500-ish on an empty necklace pendent setting to put this little diamond in. I don't don't want to go overboard since the diamond isn't worth much at all. I wouldn't mind other options for settings-- a ring, a charm, a necklace, a bracelet would all work. I just don't want earrings. I don't want to hire a jeweler to custom design a pendant setting for this since it's a cheap diamond (and I'm cheap).

Thanks for any ideas.

I wouldn't mind something like this ring even. This ring is a setting for 2 stones that are 5mm each. This particular one is a very cheap $20 Etsy setting, but the look of a style like this would be good enough for me if I could find a little better quality than this basic Etsy setting. I could buy a gemstone for the other stone if I can find some setting like this a few steps up in quality.
