Hi Team,

Please could I get your take on this lab grown diamond?

Specs: 1.50ct Ideal cut, D colour, VVS2 clarity ROUND cut diamond. Polish EXCELLENT Symmetry EXCELLENT Fluorescence NONE.

There is no inclusion(s) from the top. There is a needle (?) inclusion at 6 o clock from the pavilion view.

Overall, I like the look/feel of this diamond but was concerned by the cloud (?) inclusions from the side view (see below) which was not mentioned anywhere in the report. This diamond was graded by IGI fyi. This diamond supposedly passed the independent quality-check.

Is it normal for a VVS2 clarity grade diamond? Is it safe to go with this diamond? Or should I look for another one?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

I can’t imagine that is visible. Inclusions are graded face up using a 20x loupe (or maybe 10x? I can’t recall). Either way, seeing something from the side at 40x is not a problem in relation to clarity grading.

I don’t know the significance of those markings re: lab diamond quality. Someone more experienced in assessing lab material will come along.
