Hi...I''m a longtime lurker who finally decided to ask a question!

My boyfriend and I are practically engaged (he just has to talk to my parents...they are very traditional). We''re both starving grad students, and have decided to forgo an engagement ring, and go with a fancier, stand alone wedding ring. We want to elope this summer, so we need to find something soon.

I would love it if all of the generous, helpful people on this board might be able to post pictures of their colored stone eternity bands, either with diamonds or without. Thank you very much!!

It''s not mine, but I love the ruby and diamond band shown in this thread.

Hi, try www.facets.com. The maternity bands (yes, they are marketed as maternity bands but are pink sapphire or blue sapphire eternity bands generically) are really pretty..

Here is my sapphire and diamond antique eternity band

oops...silly me! I forgot a couple of key things.

Our budget is about $1000, we could maybe go $100 over.

I''d prefer something channel or bezel set, as I''m currently getting a masters in music technology, so I''m always digging around with cords and carrying speakers and sticking mics in wierd places, so I''d like something easily protected. Thanks!

Fay Cullen has some pretty ones. I especially like this one. On the downside, Fay Cullen has a pretty crappy return policy so if you want to buy from them, ask a lot of questions up front.

I have a ruby channel eternity that I love, I think I have some pics at home.

I think it''s a great idea, but you''ll probably want to stick to sapphire/ruby and diamond for a more durable ring.

Thank you so much, everyone!

I took a look at the maternity bands from Signed Pieces last night. While I was looking, my bf came over and started looking with me. He immediately chose the rose gold band with pink sapphires.

I didn''t realize he put so much thought into it. He liked it because it was unique. I like the look of rose gold, but I don''t own any and neither does anyone we know. He also liked it because he thought it would complement my super pale yet rosy complexion. How could I argue with logic like that!

Thank you so much for helping us out, suggesting the Signed Pieces bands was perfect. We are pretty sure that is what we are going with. Thanks so much once again!

The ring is very pretty, and I think it''s an excellent choice going for the eternity band. you can always add an "engagement" or anniversary ring later on in life when being gouged for text books and finding creative ways to eat for less than 20 bucks a week ( I have friends in grad school

) are no longer priorites.

What a beautiful ring. Your fiance to be has awesome taste.

Just FYI, that''s exactly my complexion (with a bunch of freckles thrown in) and rose gold looks GREAT with my skin tone. You''ll love it!!

I hope you come back and post pictures of your beautiful band!
