Coloured Gemstone Bargain Bin

Another coloured gemstone bargain bin, clearing out excess stones and ones that have been sitting unused.

Very pretty 1.36 carat mid to just shy of royal blue heat only sapphire. Stone is a spready x 7.56 x 5.49 x 3.38. Sapphire is on the lighter side of Royal indoors and in the shade in colour with mid flashes of blue. I bought the stone for a project and then didn't use it. The stone has a decent (ie big) sized window but all you see is blue there is no ugly lighter area (it's a darker area in the centre) and the stone has the same spread as some of my 2 carat sapphires which is a bonus. Some very minor colour zoning when the stones is upside down but you don't see this when the stone is face up. Great stone for someone looking for a mid coloured stone that is not too dark or too light that has a good spread and can overlook the window, or a bargain priced blue sapphire for a project or someone that isn't too fussy about the cut.

Stone photographs more vivid in colour than it actually is but it is still a pretty stone, in real life it is most like the photo on the speckled grey background and the lego character background which I have posted above. Priced to clear as sapphires like this elsewhere are touted from high end origins and are at least three to four times the price.... $400.00 plus $25.00 registered shipping.

Stunning Silvery grey 2.94 Cushion cut untreated spinel. Brand new stone, nicely cut with no chips or other issues. It colour changes from a mid to light grey indoors to a light silver grey outside and under decent lighting.

The stone is a spready 10.2 x 8.50 x 6.5mms and faces up like a 3.5 to 4.00 carat stone in size, it's actually bigger mm wise than the 4+ carat EC spinel I sold recent. Will make a wonderful high end or statement ring stone. Glorious colour and cut $390.00 ono. $25.00 for registered shipping.

Very pretty light silvery grey 1.82 Asscher cut untreated spinel. 7.40 x 7.20 x 4.00. It colour changes from a light silver grey inside to a light silvery grey with a hint of ice blue outside in the sun and under strong lighting which makes it look nicer again IMHO. Stone has a window, and isn't a perfect cut but is still a very pretty stone, it has some inclusions in it but they get lost in the cut and again it faces up clean. Great/pretty stone for the price or for someone that has always wanted a bargain priced silvery grey spinel or an Asscher cut silvery grey spinel $100.00 ono. $25.00 registered shipping.

Black oval spinels - Uber Chic big black oval spinels. The fatter one is 4.93 carats 11.45 x 9.24 x 6.21. $45.00 ono. The longer one is 5.40 carats and 12.47 x 9.02 x 6.10. $50.00 ono.

I love these - they could be set with diamonds or just on their own in any type of setting and they will make the most glorious modern or Deco looking rings or jewellery pieces. Big stones at bargain prices compared to the prices of black diamonds. I have a few of them I am keeping for myself the only reason for selling is I have a number of them and had to buy a parcel to get a few that I can make jewellery for myself out of, these are some of the nicer ones that were in the lot, as I cannot use them all. They are actually a russet colour or a dark purple colour when you hold them up to light, or have strong lighting but when they are face up on the hand they look black. $25.00 registered shipping.

Sale is pending on the Asscher. I'm determined to clean out some stones as I have way too many.

Price reduced - blue 1.36 heat only sapphire, despite window is a lovely colour I'm VERY fussy when it comes to coloured anything was $400.00, now $350.00, a bargain large facing stone for this price.

Reduced 2.94 silvery grey spinel. Has a bigger face up than the large emerald cut I had really gorgeous colour. Can't rave about this one enough was $390.00 now $340.00ono.

Make me an offer on the black spinels, way cooler in person very much like black diamonds.

Two Mahenge garnets for sale, both at or below wholesale pricing as these were projects that never happened..... Both colour shift like all garnets do but are amazing indoors or under office or shop lighting. Sorry for lots of pics on these but they really do shift in colour, I've intentionally posted a range of pics to show them in best and worst lighting so at their darkest as well as their brightest.

Descriptions;

1) Stunning 6.40 Emerald cut untreated Mahenge garnet. Brand new stone, native (so imperfectly) cut and eye clean. It colour changes from a deep purple to a mid reddish purple grape colour outdoors to a true vivid bright pinky purple and is absolutely glorious indoors under any sort of high strength lighting which is where most vendors take their pics. Remains purple in all lighting situations.

The stone is a big 10.58 x 8.74 x 6.82mms. Will make a gloriously wonderful high end or statement ring stone or if you are OCD about the cut you could recut it and still end up with a 4+ carat stone. $550.00 which is half to a third of what I see similar stones selling for retail. Again can't rave enough about this stone.

2) Gorgeous 3.47 round red untreated Mahenge garnet. Native cut some tiny inclusions out to the sides seen with a loupe, but faces up eye clean, has a small window but mostly you don't notice it. This one colour changes from a raspberry red inside under strong lighting to a much deeper magenta purple red in low lighting.

The stone is 8.41 x 8.46 x 6.01 and is a great shape for a ring stone, again if you are OCD about cut you could recut it and end up with a 2 carat stone. This one is below cost at $250.00.

Both stones are beautiful as is and do not specifically need a recut I just mentioned it if you are super fussy about cutting.

These stones are beautiful, @arkieb1 !! I'm looking at the gorgeous sapphire up the top - and I really shouldn't be!!

By the way - I'm still going back and forth on how to set the blue/green sapphire I bought from you earlier this year; it's a lovely stone, MUCH nicer than what I paid for it! I hope these sell very soon - for both our sakes!!

(In case anyone is considering these gems, I bought a few stones from Arkie and they're lovely!)
