We started discussing the search for CSWWBs in another post, and I thought it would be nice to get more people in on the search. I live in NYC and would like to find a boot that feels like Uggs on the inside, but looks more polished. It needs to be good for walking A LOT, waterproof for snow and rain, warm for the winter and stylish enough to be versatile.
I was looking at Sven clog boots. A little expensive ($230), but maybe...? Here''s a photo:
Diamondfan posted this: "Stuart Weitzman has a couple that are weather resistent and warm, flatter heel, and then they have a couple in the gore tex which is guaranteed waterproof but not lined in fluff. La Canadienne (Embrace) and Aquitalia (Maddy, but cannot remember the name of the short one I liked) on the Nordstrom site are both stylish warm waterproof and not flat. Embrace has a wedge heel which I like. Look at them...I have seriously bought and returned 10 pairs to find the couple I like...I have yet to find ONE that captures it, meaning, comfy for a lot of walking, truly waterproof, lined with warm stuff and stylish enough for dressier times. I have come close with a couple..."
I pretty much buy shoes ONLY at Nordstrom because they carry size 4.5. And you know what, Payless has nice shoes that fit me (sometimes the size 5 is variable...the ones that are made small fit me perfectly and are comfortable too!) I love some of the La Canadienne styles, and everytime I look at them, I remember that they only make size 6 and up. For a winter boot, I could buy a size 5 because I''d be wearing thick socks with them. The Aquitalia Maddy looks great too! (Ack, just looked, only size 6 and up). Photo of Aquatalia Maddy:
The Stuart Weitzman shoes usually come in small sizes, but they are pricey!
