YAY!!!! After a crazy whirlwind week, what a fun thread to come back to.... thanks Zoe, DF, Kaleigh, Musey, MB, Jas, Sum, Lorelei, Dani and FG!!!

Everything was amazing... from the rehearsal dinner, to the ceremony, all the way through til the last dance at the reception (the band got called back for two encores and our dads talked them into staying an extra half hour

) and then our post-reception trip to a local bar (nothing like playing PhotoHunt in a wedding gown... hehe)! There was a bit of drama, actual fireworks (from the veranda of the Hotel) and plenty of cute sentimental stuff too...

I will have to post more details later, but my HUSBAND (ahhh!!!) is falling asleep on the couch waiting for me... so I''m going to put up a few pix one of my lovely bridesmaids just sent me, and then get some much-anticipated SLEEP. These are mostly getting-ready pix since she didn''t have her camera with her much after that... but hopefully I''ll have some more to add soon!!

We stopped off for pictures at the park at the bottom of my parents'' neighborhood, since the day was so beautiful... my MOH was unbelievable... I didn''t have to worry about a thing the whole time, because she was literally right behind me at every step.

Getting into Dad''s car for the ride to the church... we needed the roof down just to get all of the dress in!!

In the not-so-lovely waiting room at the church... gotta love the stacks of ugly yellow chairs!! My bridesmaids were helping each other with the finishing touches while I reminded myself to breathe... I started feeling SO anxious during those last 15 minutes or so, but as soon as my dad and I turned the corner to walk down the aisle, I felt at peace...

Most of the reception shots were taken by my bridesmaid''s fiance while we girls were out on the dance floor, so they''re all just a blur! I think this one was during Dancing Queen... not a great shot but I thought I''d put it up for now until we get some better ones!!

OK, probably nothing else too exciting for now... she sent me 147 pix (!!), but I just tried to pull a few that showed the different stages of our getting-ready process... trying not to get too repetitive!

I know my brothers have some great ones on their cameras too, so I can't wait until people start downloading... but for now... sleep...... ahhhhhhhh.

Thanks again for all of your lovely well wishes!!! I know it was those kind of good vibes that made the day so beautiful...

ETA -- Oh I didn't see the comments in between pix!! You guys are so sweet... and DF, the ceremony was at the church I grew up attending, and the reception was at the Hotel Hershey... definitely the place I've dreamed of having my wedding since I was a little girl.

OK I lied, I'm adding one more...

...but I just wanted to put up at least one pic of me and my new hubby!! This was nearer to the end of the evening and we'd been on the dance floor all night, so we were both looking a bit disheveled by then (and he's doing some funny half-smile thing

).... but I don't think either of us have ever been happier.

Did chocolate scented air surround you?! I have stayed there and the town totally smells of chocolate. Their spa had all of these chocolate scented and themed treaments! I hope you gave some chocolate goodies for your guests...

I also ate at the most amazing restaurant there years ago, not sure it is still around, it is called Brian Kent or something? Right in the town, with the Hershey kiss shaped street lights!!! OMG so good...

OK apparently I am still too adrenaline-filled to sleep, so of course I'm back online!!

The chocolate-scented air really is kinda crazy.... Hershey is where I was born and raised, so we got used to that aroma at a very young age! It always seemed to be at its peak around 3 o'clock in the afternoon when we were just getting out of school and hungry for a snack...

We had to work hard to find a way to incorporate chocolate into our favors for the out-of-towners, even though our half of the guests were mostly Hershey people, so the novelty has kinda worn off for them! We decided to do the way-too-trendy candy buffet, and it actually worked out really well... I think the out-of-towners appreciated it for keeping with the "sweetest place on earth" idea, and the Hershey people liked it just because it was fun! And the Hotel is absolutely gorgeous but also feels like home to me... we've had so many special events there over the years (birthdays, mother's days, middle school graduation, senior prom, etc... and after we went away to college, my friends and I would always meet up there when we were back in town

) So it was just the perfect place for our wedding... I can't wait until the pro pix come back!

And Brian Kent's was one of our most favorite restaurants (right on Chocolate Avenue!)... we actually were hoping to do our rehearsal dinner there, but they closed last year!! We were so disappointed...

but we ended up at another great place in town, so all was well.

It was definitely the only place in the area that served La Colombe coffee though... sigh.

Why did it close? I thought it was totally fab and cannot understand why he is not still around...

I am sure the factory scented the air strategically as kids were coming home so they would want some Hersheys as a snack!

It was really one of the best restaurants in the area... and he was so passionate about it... I loved that he used to import all these amazing ingredients and come out to the table to explain the significance of everything. I don''t know if we ever found out why they closed though... it was REALLY sudden... one day they were open, next day there was a notice up on their website.

And that strategically scented air really could be cruel!! The factory was right down the street from the tennis courts my high school team practiced on, so some days it was torture trying to run around and play tennis with our mouths watering.
