I just noticed that Continental Diamond is a new PS vendor.

They sell their Legacy Collection diamonds.

@Wink is their Brand Ambassador and Diamond Consultant.

Very exciting. I just checked out their website, they have some lovely in-house ring designs. Unfortunately, they aren’t (yet?) fully set up for nationwide online retail. Lots of the dreaded “Call for pricing and availability” and “so much more available in store.”

This is outstanding - congratulations to Continental Diamond, the CD staff, the cut/polish team, and Wink!

Mazel Tov Winkerino!!

Continental has been a highly regarded merchant for as long as I can remember. Sounds like a marriage made in heaven:)

Wonderful news!

Congratulations!!! I am super excited to hear this

Congratulations Wink.
Wishing you all the best.

As much as I would like them to spend another hundred thousand making more changes to their site, these are people with a LONG history of service in their community. I believe they will always have so much more available than will ever be on the site.

They will always work with people on their millions of dollars worth of owned inventory and will for the near future only be listing the Continental Diamond Legacy Diamonds on their site.

While it may not be the most convenient shopping, it will be well worth a quick text or call to find out what they have available. These are full service employees, not a computer phone shop. The diamonds they own are all diamonds they liked enough to spend their own money on, there are no virtual diamonds being listed on their site.

Congrats!

Thank you! I agree with you, they make me feel like family.

Wink, just be careful. The Twin Cities are not the safe places they were many years ago. Have your head on swivel when you're out and about.

One of the wonderful things about the Internet is I live and work in Boise, Idaho.

As a former Marine, my head still swivels freely, finding many more new friends than dangers. Still, I appreciate the caution you share. It is good advice no matter the location.

Excellent! Thanks.

As much as I hate to jump in to defend MN on the day we first see snow this fall/winter season (YUCK!) - not all areas, including the suburb where Continental is located have seen the same level of recent decline/danger as other areas. I'm all for being cautious and not taking unnecessary risk, plus it is always wise to be aware of your surroundings, but I've spent more time (and money) than I'd care to admit at Continental and have never felt unsafe in that particular area.

There seem to be many of them.

mn-shopaholic, thanks for this. Which suburb is it? My brother keeps reporting car jackings in Woodbury (!?!) and that awful shooting down the street from Cossetta's. Tough to not be frightened, but Wink's a Marine. He'd be good anywhere.
Tell us something wonderful about Continental Diamonds, since you've actually been there.

Guilty as charged. I've been shopping there for years and have purchased all of my 11 (I think) CBI's from them, plus numerous other pieces. The 11 sounds worse than it is as most are sub-1ct.

Jimmy and Helain (owners) plus so many of the rest of the staff will greet me by name and ask how things are even though I'm not their biggest spender by far. My regular SA has taken so much TIME to allow me to browse and study the differences between color/clarity/carat so I can make an educated choice with my purchases (unlike another local jeweler who decided I/SI was the only combo worth considering). All of this without making me feel like a nuisance/annoyance, even though I do not make decisions in a hurry and overanalyze the heck out of everything.

Yay Wink! Congrats on this new exciting venture!

They are in Saint Louis Park, which is a bit west of Minneapolis.

I'm on the west side, so I'm not super familiar with what is going on the Woodbury (east) side. Most of what I'm hearing about shootings is from Minneapolis or Saint Paul proper (I have a friend who has a carry permit who won't go to Minneapolis proper, so some areas can get a bit dicey). Unfortunately, bad things can and do happen in life so I'm certainly not trying to say nothing bad ever happens here; but at least in the suburbs near me, it is not an everyday occurrence and for the most part, we're able to go about life as usual.

As far as wonderful goes; my favorites are when they pull out the large diamonds I will never be able to afford (I still regret not putting that 5.05 F/IF GIA XXX under the ASET) because they know I love diamonds and will appreciate what I'm seeing. They love what they do and it shows with how excited they get over the products/pieces being put together. This was years ago (shows scaled back during/because of covid), but during one of the trunk shows I think I had $1m on between a 10ct asscher on one hand and something yellow on the other hand.

I also very much appreciate that they try to scour the shows and find the best across price points and styles (though in the midwest, we do steer conservative), so they can cater to a wide group and be as inclusive as possible while still offering quality products. 065.JPG
