it is not a leakage , it is a head ( camera) obscuration. The reason is same as for black arrows in shallow round diamonds .
So no concern or bad because it sounds like it’s bad in a round?
There are a good and a bad contrast. "Nail head" is also head obscuration .
Fast black zones visible only by one eye are positive for Brilliancy.
Slow Black zones visible by both eyes simultaneously reduce Brilliancy.
I do not like strong dark zones as in this emerald as in shallow round diamonds. For my opinion a slow dark zone from head obscuration is not more positive than a slow dark zone from leakage. From other side many experts and salespersons promote shallow round diamonds with strong black arrows .
if you like shallow round cuts like this https://cutwise.com/diamond/17144?sp=43
You would like emerald as in your links.
Most Emerald cuts have either leakage or head obscuration. it is very difficult to avoid both of them in one emerald design. In Emerald you need use right angles for 5-6 facets to avoid static-slow black zones .Even good samples like https://cutwise.com/diamond/43048?sp=43 have leakage and head obscuration .
The industry need more time to improve emerald cut design.
Check the videos to see if they dance when rotated side to side? Ignore the pavilion view you wont see it.
They can look fine face up but if they don't dance they are missing the real magic that makes them awesome.
Im not at my computer to see the details in the video.
I need ASET to make any judgement - and draggable videos

And let me throw these in the mix if you don’t mind @Karl_K @Serg @Garry H (Cut Nut)

Superb answer Karl - love it.The ideal for an EC is min. blue in ASET but in video each virtual facet fires by itself. Multiple red in aset virtual facets firing together in tilt makes it bright and boring. Red in a well cut EC is not the same as the majority of the red in most RBs. The majority of red in most RBs is red next to blue where red in a well cut EC is a mix of red next to green and red next to blue.
3 zones does not and can not define EC behavior but aset can give you a very rough idea of the face up potential.
For there you need video rotating side to side to see if the virtual facets fire independently and with reasonable speed.
Yep I agree. The WORSTEST is when there are large leakage AND blue side by side as then when the diamond moves you get nothing nothing nothing.
Yep I agree.
"Blue to green is I think (???) impossible? Maybe not?"
hmm interesting question, certainly if you move it fast enough it could appear to or in a video where the frames are a couple degrees apart.
I think if you slow it down enough it would show there was a color between them. Not 100% sure but it seems unlikely.
Would you please give me your opinion on this one, Karl? I bought an ASET but I am having a hard time using it. This stone seems really bright and I love the scintillation in the corners, but I’m not sure if the middle is doing enough. As you can tell, I’m also struggling to get decent video of it. I think it looks more lively in person and I couldn’t get that to show on the video.

Your right, large part of the center is flashing all at once and is very slow to flash out of leakage.
Throw it back?
Karl, how do you know who likely cut it?
