On an average how much would it cost to replace the prongs on a ring.

I was quote $150 but I guess it varies depending on how difficult the design, etc. I guess call around to reputable vendors.

Prongs or the whole head? My jeweler said he could re-do my prongs in plat for $60, but it was much more expensive when my mom had the head of her ring replaced (somewhere in the neighborhood of $200 I think for a new plat head).

Around here it is about $25 to $40 per prong.
