Well girlies...I have some news. Last night when ff and I were looking at diamonds we are considering he asked how long it would take for a LM setting to be done. I told him my best guess was 8 weeks and that he better get on it with him if he wants something that quick. He almost fell off his chair. I don''t know what he expected but I think he thought we would just buy a diamond and then put it in a setting. I love guys they are so...

sometimes. At least it gives me hope I won''t be the list keeper that long.

Wow, my goodness! You wouldn''t be list keeper for very long at all!

Really it takes that long?! Holy crap...I better pass along this information to dear BF. I bet he thinks the same...buying the ring is like 1-2-3. Yikes.

I''m more out-of-the-loop than I thought.

Just so you know, a few folks recently have been quoted a certain length of time (6-8 weeks I believe) but it has taken a few weeks longer than that. But YAY, it is still progress! And a Leon, ooooh!

I had a good giggle when I read this b/c my boy is the same way. I''m sure he thinks he can just walk into a store one day and walk out with the perfect ring an hour later. Just more proof that boy time and girl time are totally different. Hopefully he''ll get in gear so that you can have that beauty on your finger this summer!

**Sending more dust your way for good measure **

But the progress is something to cheer about!!!!!!!!

Well, I had a feeling the actual proposal would be sometime this summer but I really thought he had talked to LM by now. In retrospect I see why he hasn''t. He is really scared that I am going to be dissapointed so we decided that I am going to be involved in the whole process. Even though he has all of the criteria I want I can see where his concern comes from. I think he''d be ok but I know he feels more comfortable with my input. There is no way I am turning that down. I''ll keep you all posted on the progress.

Sounds good! What LM are you thinking of getting?

I had an idea for a combination of a few. So...first off the stone that we are looking at is a 9mm X 7mm emerald cut. I would like to put a 1.5mm band and a small halo, similar to what Crooked rock just got for her engagment ring. However, I have some ideas for the basket of the ring that are a combination of a few settings but am open to more options. I''d love to have that halo be pink but FF thinks that it may go out of style. I don''t, but I have a feeling that pink may be more expensive. I also want double prongs on the stone and the halo to highlight the cut corners. I love emerald cuts so much because of the cut corners that the setting I have must highlight that. The one thing that I don''t want is the halo to be flat and square, does that make sense? I love halos but on me they only look good when they are small and subtle besides I really want something that isn''t going to overwhelm my finger. I love that the micropave halos are fluid and only look to have one side (no sharp corners).

My other idea I have never seen so I''m not sure what it would look like. That is to have the emerald cut center flanked by two half moons. I''ve never seen it so I really can''t picture it. If we go that route I''d still want the 1.5mm pave band.

I''ve been on this site for two years so I have a pretty good idea of what I want but if anyone has suggestions I''ll certianly hear them.
