Hi everyone

I have a beautiful eternity band that I bought from @Dandi nearly 3 years ago. It was my wedding band upgrade and I am still obsessed with it. I wear it everyday and unfortunately it has taken a beating and I cracked one diamond a few months ago, and another just today. The band is originally from IDJ. Any advice on how to repair or how much it would cost? Its a size 6.5 and is 3.3 carats total. Im so bummed.

I wish I could help but have no idea what to do.
You helped me, though. I abuse my rings and this is encouraging me to treat mine better.

Yes! Please be careful, i feel so foolish because I received it in perfect condition from @Dandi (who is so wonderful btw) and I love it so much and now this :-(

If it originally came from IDJ, maybe call them to see about replacing the diamonds?

Yes, I would think you need to call IDJ and let them tell you about replacement cost and setting labor for the two diamonds. Hopefully you know the carat weight of each diamond as they will of course need that info. Other jewelers can replace and repair too; I would just be concerned about getting the same diamond quality for the replacement stones. Is the ring insured?

Beautiful ring!
One that I would have loved to snag from her myself.

If it were me - I would consider resetting into an almost eternity band.
Especially if there is more damage than just the two stones you mentioned.

-I’d want to still wear it all the time as you have been -not only for special occasions
-Possibly prevent more damage from occurring at bottom of ring (let’s face it, wear habits are wear habits and at this point of my life unsure could change)
- hello sizing bar

Best wishes

Reach our to Yekutiel at IDJ...he will help you. You'll just need to pay for replacement stones. Good luck!

thanks everyone, I did reach out to IDJ. havent heard back yet about pricing, but hoping I can just go the IDJ route.

Since I live in CA i was wondering if there was something I could do locally. I will see about resetting the whole ring. a friend also recommended lab stones as replacements ?

HI:

Bummer! Hope you find a reasonable options to fix your beautiful ring.

FWIW--My Mom had a 3/4 diamond eternity and managed to crack stones on the outer sides. So a partial eternity ring is not a "perfect" solution either.

cheers--Sharon

This sort of thing is often an insurable loss with most policies but you may not want to do it even if it is. You've got two different 'events', which means two deductibles and two dings to your insurance record. Start by asking IDJ. This is not a defect so it's only reasonable that you should pay and it's not just the diamond, there's some labor here as well. They're a good company and they'll treat you well. They can probably even give you a pretty reliable quote from the photos and their records.
