crafty flip flop ideas?

I''ve seen people selling flip flops with crystals on the straps on ebay for crazy prices.
They''re cute, but
couldn''t I just do them myself?

So I ordered this cute pair of flops to try to work with, and see if I could fancy them up.
Do any of you have any ideas? If I wanted to attach crystals, or something, where would I get
the crystals? How would I attach them? See, I''m helpless! Any and all ideas are welcome!
Including just giving up, lol!

I think you've got a great idea! Get your crystals at a craft store (do you have "Michaels" where you are?) and apply them with hot glue or superglue.

I looked at Hobby Lobby (pretty much the same as Michael''s) and they were selling a package of 18 stones for $2.49...that''s very roughly 400 stones for $50 (math is not a strength for me), whereas if you get them from artbeads or similar site they go for about $.03-.04 per stone, so if you bought 400 stones it would only cost you $30 or so plus S&H. The E6000 glue is cheaper in the stores by a buck or two.

I have been looking into covering my cellphone with Swarovski crystals so that''s how I got my info. Also, Mara posted a thread last fall about blinging out her cell phone. Search the forums for "bling cell phone" and it will come up!

get the swarovski flatbacks online, through ebay too, that's where i got my cell phone kit which was basically just 500 crystals, the permanent glue (ES6000, you can get it at a craft or hobby store, it's GREAT for staying on permanently), a few sticks for putting the crystals on and an idea CD. it was $50 but if you are doing less crystals tons of people have them for like $20-30 etc. they also have different crystal sizes.

I just ordered the crystals! They were about 12.00 for 400 of them. I bought the glue through them too, just easier that way! Thanks Ya''ll! How impulsive am I? My FI is laughing at me too, he says that I''m not as artistic as I think I am. I''ll show him, ha ha, I''ll make our cake topper too!

You won''t be able to type or attach pictures with the flip flops glued to your hands! Ha ha! But seriously, how hard can it be to glue crystals onto them? I''m sure they will turn out fantastic--with 400 crystals that 100/strap and I would think the trick to having them turn out well is full coverage. 100/strap should cover each strap a few times over. Can''t wait to see ''em! Just curious, how much were they on ebay?
