Hello All,

After weeks of scouring the internet looking for the "best deal", I've decided it's impossible to look at diamonds from a pure financial / spread aspect and the heart wants what the heart wants.

I'm looking for a 1.5+ cushion cut with a ratio of 1.10+ (H/I+, VS2+ clarity, budget $13,500) which seem to be almost impossible to find well cut. Anyone have any idea on where to look? Below are a few I've narrowed down on JA, and I should have ASET images soon. It's going into a VC Emilya setting once I choose the stone, and I promise to post pics once done!

Thoughts?

Thanks for the help!!!!!

Welcome ATlien!

Out of your selections, I like the first best, post the ASET images when you get them then we can get a better idea.

I had a look for you and found some alternatives.

The diamond below is in budget, about $12700. If Jon verified it to be eye clean it might fit the bill if you would consider SI clarity grades?

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/10198/

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11296/ $12,212.00

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11759/ $13221.00

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11760/ $13348.00

If you would consider J colour, this one is well within budget and it's big.

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11959/ $9832.00

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11990/ $11307.00

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/12051/ $12274.00 It's an August Vintage Chunky plus J colour but adding it anyway!

http://www.goodoldgold.com/cart.php $13486.00

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/12275/ $12236.00

A few more to consider.

Thanks for the help!!!!!

While the stones you have picked do have some nice qualities, in general they are not nice stones...too much leakage and not great
faceting patterns.
Lorelei has posted some nice ones from GOG.

Here is what I found at JA that I think may be worth a look...
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.90-carat-i-color-vs2-clarity-sku-323410
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.71-carat-h-color-si1-clarity-sku-211085
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.70-carat-i-color-vs2-clarity-sku-290467 may have some leakage
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.55-carat-g-color-vs2-clarity-sku-132041
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.50-carat-h-color-vs2-clarity-sku-132632
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.50-carat-h-color-si2-clarity-sku-293827 may have too much contrast
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.50-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-sku-293745 ratio may be too big

If you could cancel the aset request on those 3 stones I would do it.

Welcome ATlien!

Out of the ones that 3 you chose and listed, I vote for the first 2.12 carat one...

Out of the ones Tyty333 posted I like the 1st two of them
(http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.90-carat-i-color-vs2-clarity-sku-323410
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.71-carat-h-color-si1-clarity-sku-211085) Though I do love GOG's August Vintage's, too, that Lorelei posted!!

I can't give you the extreme technical help that the other great people on here can, but biggest size and best cut for the $$ are what I would always go for and I will sacrifice on color and clarity (as long as it's eye clean), but that's just me, all that's important is what you/ or she likes! For you color may be #1 to you. But looks like you have tons of choices now, you came to the right place tons of knowledgeable people on here (myself NOT included lol) But just giving you a vote all the same with pure opinion :) Happy searching!

A few more to consider.

I'd buy the AVC in a heartbeat if it was an H+ plus, but I'm worried about putting it in a platinum halo at a J with no fluorescence.

Also, on this one, http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/12275/,,, it has the ugliest GIA cert I've seen from a VS2 stone.

While I do love those, I'm worried about being able to see any inclusion on the SI1 (the ONLY thing the future mrs. has ever noticed are inclusions), and the tables are larger than I'd like on the others 70%+.

Email sent. Hopefully they oblige.

I've also done some more digging and came out with these...

Thanks again for all the help!!!!!!!

No problem ATlien, regarding the grading report you mention, in VS2 I doubt there is going to be a problem with any visible inclusions but if the clarity map doesn't appeal to you, that's absolutely fine, it's all about preference with any aspect of a diamond purchase!

The 2 ERD cushions look superb by the way!
