After a year of being "unofficially" engaged....I finally got the ring (and the bling

)!!!

YIPEEE!!! I can now talk about the wedding without hiding my hands!!!!

Thanks everyone! How he did it....hmmm....
Well, I knew it was going to be this last weekend, and I just knew it would be Friday (women's intuition). We spent Friday wine tasting in Santa Maria/Santa Ynez. At one winery, I think it was Zaca Mesa, they had this little path to take to a view spot. He said, "Let's go here"... I thought, ooooh, this is it! So we hike up the little path...look around the view spot, then go back to car...no ring. I think, Ok, another place. It goes on like this throughout the day. Then he says, pick a place for dinner...I say, wherever you like honey.....he suggests a nice steakhouse...I think, oooooh this is it! We get into the steakhouse and I proceed to slip and fall flat on my knee in front of a full place. I feel like a total klutz, take a bow and everyone claps. Then, as we are sitting at the bar, I feel my knee and it swelled to the size of a small orange! I then get dizzy, and plop myself in a booth. Manager comes up and tells me this is reserved, and I am like, just TRY and get me out of here as I struggle to not faint. Mr H gets me ice, and the swelling starts to subside. Mr H goes to bathroom and I think...ooooh this is it...he is planning something with waiter. Waiter offers me free dessert and I think....oooh this is it. Wrong again. Then after dinner, Mr H says he has to go to car. He makes me wait in front of car while he fiddles in the back. I think...oooh, this is it. We then go window shopping and then back to car. Still no ring. By the time we end up back at B&B, I have gotten myself throughly bummed. I blame it on hurt knee, but am really bummed it didn't happen. Before we kiss goodnight, I ask him why did he go to car? He stated that he left the ring in car and thought he should have it on him. I blurt out, why don't you just give it to me already so you won't lose it??? He mentioned that he just wanted the perfect time and place, and when I fell in the restaurant, it didn't just seem like the time. Next morning, he says, let's go to the Orchard Farm. I think...oooh, this is it, since our wedding will be tropical.....yeah, you guessed it. No ring. He then suggests we go to beach...OK, this has to be it.....we get out of car, head onto the pier......walk 3/4 down the pier, stops, says I gotta ask you something, and asks me to marry him......!
Well, I was in shock for the first half hour, mesmerized at the beauty of this ring and the realization that my yearlong wait was finally over. I am sure he is equally relieved that this phase is over. I jokingly tease him with "Oh goodie..now we can spend the next year doing all the wedding stuff!!!" I'm such a lil devil!!

Thank you zhuzhu! I posted the info on SMTR. The diamond is a 1.267 G SI1. Bob at WF said it could be a VS2... it was pretty clean. All I see is sparkle!
