Cull my collection or repurpose?

So I have culled a bit of my ring collection in recent months, letting go of pieces I just never wore anymore to fund the purchase of my OMC solitaire that I love! But I got a ring that I have to decide on keeping or returning, and while I like it I’m undecided. I took stock of my other pieces, and while all on my index finger are keepers (wedding ring, second wedding ring, original engagement ring and my recent bigger stones) the others are all possibilities to let go. The retro fan type ring on the bottom of my ring finger is my new purchase, approximately 1.75cts of clean, white stones. So my questions are:
Number 1- keep or return the retro fan diamond ring?
Number 2- let some others go
Number 3-keep and repurpose diamonds to create my dream crescent diamond pendant
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Also, my camera is very poor so apologies for the not so great pictures, I always feel they do no justice to my lovely diamonds!C335A01C-4510-436F-B31C-6FE0D72B8D1F.png34E2C942-E2CC-4B9D-AFD5-88C6D6ED66FD.png04F8B1E3-C761-4987-805E-0C3D6D856E53.png877B185A-4D45-464B-89DF-87E52C67CC74.png02B01A65-BA00-4D11-817D-D5A252A44823.png

If you’re undecided about selling a ring, just keep it for now. Sell what you’re sure that you don’t want. Maybe once you have fewer pieces, the decision will be clearer.
You can always sell later, but if you sell now and change your mind…..regret.

Agree. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. You can also post a feeler thread to see if there is any interest too. See if buyer is there.

Yes the "feelers" thing is a good idea and then if there is someone who shows interest, it may reveal your true feelings of "yes! A buyer" or "no! I don't want it gone". This probably varies from person to person, but I find that once I post about selling something I then become more committed to selling it and want gone haha.

As for the new ring - if you are undecided that tells me that perhaps you don't love it and may be best to return and spend that money on something that makes your heart sing!

All in how much would it cost to create your dream crescent (cost of the ring + labor)?

Thanks so much for all the advice! I think the ring will have to go back. There’s a discolouration at the front I queried before buying and they said it would be polished but it’s still there as much as ever. It’s the first thing I see now! The style of crescent I would love seems to be way out of my reach but thinking about it, my modern round cuts probably wouldn’t suit if I were to have one made. Also I don’t know how much it would be!

So I think it has really grown on me…..I think I may keep it! It’s sooooo comfortable….ADDDDAFC-BC60-4C62-9511-3FC38E450038.png

I really like it! Also prefer it to a couple of your other rings that you were on the fence about

Thank you! Yep I think one is going to be made into a solitaire bezel necklace and a couple of others into a 5 stone ring! I got most for a great price so I’m happy to put a bit of money towards making something I’ll wear more often! =)2

Great idea there is no point in having something you don’t wear (imo!) I look forward to seeing your new pieces when the time comes!
