Is this a good deal?

Price $60k
Color D
Carat 3.6, natural
Super Ideal Cut
VVS2

How else should I think about it?

We need to see a video of the stone to assess if it's a good one or not. Fancy shapes need to be seen in motion.

Note that whoever is using the term "super ideal" cut here is likely just making it up (unless you're going with a specialty cut from someone like brian gavin or jann Paul).

I would always recommend choosing a different vendor than brilliant earth. Their customer service is, frankly, horrifying. The stone itself is hard for me to say, but I feel like it isnt very lively and doesnt have much play of light, but it might be the video angle. @Kim N @DejaWiz what do you think?
I adore hearts and arrows cushion cuts (the first one from BN). So that would be my choice above all of the others, personally.

I agree about the Brilliant Earth stone and also love the first Blue Nile stone!

Curious - what about the first blue nile stone do you like vs the other options?

Probably because it has more of a hearts and arrow cut - see the arrows patterning in the center? It is also an Astor diamond in BN’s line so better cut quality. The others have a more crushed ice look. Brian Gavin also sells hearts and arrows cushion cut diamonds. Check them out too!

I like the first BN as well. You'll get a lot of flashes with the contrast of the H&A.

I don’t know the answer as. I’m not an expert but when so look at the video all I see is the black in The middle. Maybe it’s just me because I know there is a culet there.
Did you buy the first BN stone because it’s been sold. I loved that one.

I didn't end up getting it because it was very florescent and realized that was not something I was looking for

A small culet is fine. Even a bigger culet is fine as long as you like the look. Many older stones have non-pointed culets and a lot of
PSers find them to be charming (the stones).

I'm not a big fan of the faceting pattern under the table on the new stone you posted. Not bad just not my cup of tea. However,
if you like it...I would ask to see if you can get an ASET image of it (probably not, but worth asking in case you can).

Agreed. I actually really like the facet pattern but its definitely personal taste, and an ASET would be needed

Lovedogs - thank you for the opinion. Attaching the relevant pictures. Let me know if you can see it and your thoughts. Thank you so much

There is no agreed upon standard for Super Ideal Cut based on GIA grading a diamond Excellent in Polish and Symmetry. Words are not always a guarantee that any special standard actually applies.

What do you think of the diamond's dimensions?

This is a very good quality stone. Cushion cut diamonds are incredibly popular right now, so it would make sense that it is a higher price.

this is not accurate at all. We have no idea if the stone is high quality or not based on the one picture we have. Cushion cuts don't automatically command a higher price.

Let me know what you think of the Aset image I attached, thank you

That isn't an ASET, I think it's images from a hearts and arrows viewer, which doesn't really tel me anything, unfortunately.
