Hi Ya'all,

I just added my custom ring setting: 18k yellow gold and diamonds to Loupe Troop and Diamond Bistro. It use to have my beautiful 1.50 ct marquise diamond in it until it chipped. This setting would be beautiful with a colored gemstone in the center! This is a solid, well made, heavy ring (25 grams). I sold my Whiteflash 3 stone platinum trellis ring and a plat/18k band last year with super happy buyers!!

I have been trying to sell this ring in the above link for awhile now with no luck. It's a lovely custom setting made with about 25 grams of 18 k yellow gold and diamonds. At this point I have no use for it as my original diamond chipped and was removed from the setting. I would still like to see if I can sell it, any ideas?

It looks like a well-made, pretty setting. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll find much demand for it. The head will only fit a stone just like your old one, and the overall style not in keeping with current popular trends. I believe your best bet would be to take it to a jeweler who will buy it for scrap value.

Bummer, I was thinking the same thing. I know it's not a popular design, etc., but I was hopeful...you never know. I may just hang onto it or take it somewhere locally and try to consign it. I guess it wouldn't hurt. Thank you!

What is the width the ring at the widest point, and the width of the empty channel?

The width of the empty channel is roughly 4mm and the width of the ring the other way is roughly 10/11mm. When I had my stone in the ring, the jeweler customized a regular platinum head to fit in that space. So, my diamond sat up fairly high.

Hmmmm.......

Do you know if that design can be sized up 3 sizes?

Well, I am not sure. I can check with my jeweler, who made the ring. His shop is closed Mondays, but I can check hopefully check tomorrow and let you know. Would you need a 9?

Either that or 9.5, depending which finger it's going on. What I want to do is see if I can get my zoisite channel set into it.

So sorry it took me longer to get back to you. With 4th of July last week, my jeweler had very limited hours. Anyways, with the design of the ring the way it is with all of the channel set stones it wouldn't be advised to go up or down that many sizes. Thanks for your interest!
