Hello! It's my upcoming 20 year anniversary and have decided to get a new engagement ring. I'm currently considering an Emerald Cut from Brian Gavin. But the question now is - who should I use to make the ring? I live in Houston, but I don't know of any fabulous benches here. Does anyone?

I have considered going to Victor Canera or Steven Kirsch, but that is quite far away. Did those of you with VC or SK rings travel to see the jeweler? Or did you do everything remotely? Can you share your experience with the steps in your process? Is it better to purchase the stone through these jewelers, or should I stick with BG?

Thanks in advance!!

BTW - I just reached out to Victor Canera and they told me they don't work with customers own stones.

Did you ask Brian Gavin about his settings?

Hi, What is your budget for the setting? That will determine if you can go hand forged (if you want to) or not. Also, what style of setting do you like? Is there something BG has that you want, or not? More information would be helpful.
We have some PS frequently used vendors who will set with outside stones, others will not. It would help if we knew what you are actually wanting to do as far as the setting.

It might be easiest to go through BGD. I’d you don’t like their settings they sell Vatche and Sholdt I believe and probably other designers.

I would use BGD. I have several custom made pieces from them and they’re all amazing.

No - I haven't. I will, however. It would be great to find someone in Houston who is on the level of the craftspeople in New York and LA!

I do have the budget to do hand forged. I am looking for a solitaire setting, with a hidden halo or possibly a micro-halo, and a pave band. I'm willing to get a little more creative than that but I haven't got any inspiration photos that I love.
