Some of you may recall that I bought a yellow/brown/grey 1.56ct Asscher cut diamond recently and had a bit of a nightmare deciding what colour gold to use. Being a white gold fan I really wanted platinum but in all honesty it just looked yuck so I''ve settled for a compromise.

Although this diamond isn''t a chameleon it really does perform like one. These photos honestly represent what I see but I think the colour change is due to extremely strong fluorescence.

Anyway, here are the photos (lots of them - apologies in advance)!

This is the colour I see mostly. Believe it or not, the trilliants are F/G in colour but the yellow gold and/or the central diamond has really made them look yellow. That''s the only thing I dont like about this ring but I think they''ll grow on me!

Forgot to say ........... the shank is platinum and yellow gold!

Then in some lights it looks almost chocolate!

And it looks a steel grey in some incandescent lights.

Very cool changes in color! Another stunning ring LD!

Out into the snow we go ..........

Oooooooo it''s cold out here (and wet)!

Cool side view! The surprise diamond (on each side) was taken from a ring of my mothers so is extra special.

Up close and personal

Yay, LD! I''ve been waiting to see this one done and I am not disappointed!

I adore the profile view and the surprise diamond is just gorgeous!!!!

I remember the thread when you were trying to decide how to set this! It looks great w/the 2 tone, and the profile is soo pretty!

Gorgeous! I''m in love with the setting and even the bar supports blend in incredibly well. The center diamond is pretty cool too; it''s interesting to see how it seems to colour shift. You ladies (TL, PR and you) are on your way to converting me into getting a coloured diamond pretty soon.

Oooh - that is lovely, the chameleon quality of the stone is so cool, and the setting is just lovely - its really a nice piece

LD,
How lovely. Don''t you just love how colored diamonds shift in color. They''re so much fun to watch. Great design on the ring.

Beautifully designed and executed! The surprise accents are an ingenious way to incorporate diamonds from your mother''s ring. They really highlight the clean lines of the yellow gold supporting the Asscher center stone and trilliants.

I really like how the yellow gold and platinum parallel the cool and warm hues of the Asscher diamond. Its a lovely ring!

Wow its so gorgeous LD
