Two years ago I found Pricescope when looking for an engagement ring for my wife. Thanks to all of you, I was able to put together something very special. (If you''re curious, my threads on her ER and band can be found here (WB)).

This Christmas I decided to get her a diamond pendant, which she''s been wanting for a couple years. Thanks to my schooling here, I confidently chose an "M colored" cushion, and I think it came out beautifully. Rather than fighting the warm color, I designed the pendant to accentuate it, by surrounding it in a near-colorless halo and setting it with yellow gold prongs.

Description: Uncerted 1.01 ct. "M color" "SI1" (I quote b/c its uncerted) cushion cut diamond surrounded in a micro pave halo by 21 G-color VS-clarity round diamonds with .24 tcw. Set in 14k white gold, with a 14k yellow gold basket and prongs. On a 16" 14k white gold twist chain.

This was custom made for me by Vardy''s Jewelers (http://vardysjewelers.com/) in Cupertino, CA. I found them by doing a search here on Pricescope and found out that they had an excellent reputation and carried a good amount of loose cushions, which I knew was what I wanted to get.

Warning: LOTS OF PICTURES! Hope you all don''t mind!

The pendant was super firey and sparkly in the sun. The pave stones must be really well cut. The cushion sparkles real nice, too. Hard to capture in a photo though.

Depending on the light, the cushion can look lemon yellow or nearly colorless. It looks warmer in a shadow, whiter in the sun.

This shows the yellow gold basket from behind the pendant. The yellow gold prongs are barely noticeable, but help bring out the cushion''s color.

Almost done... a couple obligatory neck shots.

She was like, "ok, you''re really starting to annoy me!" so I had to stop.
