I got a quote from a trusted vendor for a custom six prong solitaire and eternity band.

Platinum 950/RU 2.3-2.5mm 6 Prong Solitaire with Tab Prongs and shoulder height of 2.2mm - $1,725
Platinum 950/RU 2.7mm Shared Prong 90% Eternity Band holding 19x 0.08ct F/ G VS round melee diamonds (2.2mm height) - $4,750
As a custom order, these rings will be considered final sale and non-returnable, but a CAD image will be provided for your approval before production begins.
There will be a $150 setting fee to mount your diamond into the six prong solitaire.

We originally requested a 2 mm width, but they’re saying it will be 2.3 to 2.5 mm wide for the engagement ring. Her ring is already thicker than she would like it to be coming in at about 2.5 maybe 2.6 mm wide. Do you think there’s a reason why they can’t make it thinner? Is this something we shouldn’t worry about?

They are saying it will be 2.2 mm height at the shoulder for the engagement ring, but should we have that all the way around so the eternity band doesn’t stick out further on the sides?

Can you resize a 90% eternity band or should we take out more diamonds to make it resizable?
Also does this price seem about right?

We have never gone fully custom before so not sure what questions to ask or what to expect. Thanks for any advice you can give us (The Mrs. helped me write this lol).

Most of these are question to be answered by the maker of your project. When you ask what can be done, what you want to know is what can your provider do from a technical, practical, confident point of view. One shop does not, necessarily think / work with the same perspective as another. If you can't discuss these things with the maker of your project, this is not a healthy relationship. Anyone not making these pieces who tries to answer these questions is speaking out of turn.

I agree with Mark and was going to post basically the same thing.
If you feel the vendor is not a good fit for you or your project then move on to a different vendor.

Sorry for the late response, and thank you for your help.
