I first just want to thank everyone here for their help over the past few months. The information here has been invaluable in helping guide me through my stone and ring purchase. I cannot thank all the contributors enough for the wealth of information compiled.
My journey with this ring began with a deposit at a local jeweler who gave me the hard sell on a 1.9ct steep and deep. After getting home and doing a bit more homework, I realized the stone was probably a poor purchase, and had my deposit returned. Soon thereafter, following the advice and help of many on here, I purchased a 1.6ct / F / VS1 / ACA from Whiteflash. They were great to work with, very accommodating and patient. Couldn’t have asked for a better transaction and would certainly return to them for my future needs.
Stone in hand, I began my search for a jeweler and after speaking with several, landed on Steven Kirsch. I will say that for those who haven’t worked with Steven before and are thinking about it, it is best to go into it either knowing exactly what you want or being okay with whatever he gives you. Communication wasn’t the best, likely a result of just how busy he is, and as said elsewhere, he won’t hold your hand as much as some others may. That said, he is busy for a reason, his work is beyond comparison. I cannot stress enough the attention to detail and thought that he puts into his work. Even after getting to obsess over the ring for a few days, I’m still finding new features which amaze me. He was able to source side stones for me, pear shaped, 0.32ct each, matching specs as the center. Baskets interior plated in rhodium, ring done in 18k gold.
Overall, both me and my now fiancée are thrilled with the ring and appreciate all the work both Steven and everyone here has done to get us to this point. A couple of quick day-of photos, will take some additional ones once I figure out some good lighting conditions. Thanks again and enjoy!
