How would you know who won until after you developed the pictures and then would you mail them a prize? It seems a bit too complicated.

As to the cute/cheesy factor, it''s not either or...it''s a bit of both depending on who you ask.

Table camera pics either end up being fantastic or a total waste, so it could go either way, that you are requesting certain pictures be taken might mean you get better pictures.

True, and I don't know that I want to spend the extra $$ on table cameras when so many friends and family have digital cameras...I think it's cute in theory but wouldn't have as great of results as I was thinking

I think it would be really fun! The "how to figure out who won" point is a good one. You could have a mail-out prize though (that might be kind of fun, really!), and it would be a fun excuse to go through all the photos when they get back!

I think it''s pretty cute! It''s not like people HAVE to do it, just a fun option.

I don''t think it is very realistic. Plus I think people take the cameras or take worthless photos.

It''s cute in theory, but not practical, IMHO.

The idea of having disposable cameras is a good one. In my opinion it would be a better plan to have certain people you trust and ask them to take some candid shots during the reception. You will get some fun photos without the risk of children or less sensible people just taking loads of bad shots.

Sweetpea...

I actually did the scavenger hunt with the on table cameras...

Was it cheesy/campy? yes.. but our guests loved it... it was WAY better than just throwing a camera on the table and saying "have at it"... It really Challenged the crazy side of our guests and they had so much fun with it!

We didnt offer a prize though.. they just thought it was something fun and different, and were totally willing to participate.

I agree that offering a prize creates somewhat of a logistical problem, so I would just do the camera with scavenger hunt, and DONT offer a prize.

Here is a picture.. you cant read the scavenger hunt.. but if you want..I can try and track down the file that has what it says!

We are doing the scavenger hunt for people who have digital cameras. We went to the office store and bought extra cd''s and cases, made a cover on the front with instructions on what to do and put the scavenger list inside. We then ask that the take the cd''s home. Burn a copy for us and mail it to us.

I think it''s cute. I don''t think you really need to have a prize or a winner because in large groups there are always competitive people who rise to a challange just to prove they can, and they typically will get in the spirit of things without prizes or congratulations, etc.

We bought cameras for our tables. We haven''t planned a scavanger hunt yet, but maybe we will. Our main task now is figuring out which store will have the best prices on developing.

I think in the end everyone should "win the prize"--a picture CD of all the pictures taken that night plus some of your more formal pictures. You could mail these out with your thank you notes.....
