Waited patiently for the right stone to fit this beautiful new to me CVB modified Olivia setting from a fellow PS’er. I was looking for OEC to fit this setting but couldn’t find anything that fit my criteria at the right price so I looked into colored stones. Caysie was so busy and couldn’t do anything with it for a couple months so I patiently waited. She referred me to a gem cutter who had the perfect match for the setting! It’s a match made in heaven. The bad thing is… it strengthened my DSS. Now I really want a diamond in this size! Hahahaha. It’s been very rainy and gloomy and I just got it this evening so the pics aren’t that great. I’ll post the pics Caysie took and also the quick bad ones I just too tonight. Thanks for looking!

So beautiful and the size looks fantastic. What is the mm size of the Heliodor?

Ooh, beautiful! Tell me about your impressions of your heliodor. I've always been curious about it and have never seen one in real life. Does it, I don't know how to explain- behave like aqua or emerald?

Thank you! I’ve only had it for a few hours tonight so far. I’ll see how it looks in the daytime and when it’s sunny out as the forecast here in the northeast is pretty grim. I never saw the stone IRL before Caysie’s bench set is as I had Frederick from Missouririversapphireco send it to Caysie directly. Frederick is such a nice guy and so awesome to deal with. He and Caysie are so kind and wonderful to deal with. I’m not really sure how aqua or emerald behave or other gems behave for that matter. Not sure what you mean. I’m pretty new to colored gems. I have sapphire, rubies and used to have emeralds. Didn’t and don’t really think too much about them except that they are nice :). Overall, I still prefer diamonds but it’s fun to have colored gems.
 
Wow that’s really pretty! That color makes me happy and the stone looks so well cut and so clear. What a pretty ring!
 
That’s such a lovely setting and the stone looks gorgeous in it - it must be uplifting to wear!
 
Dmndsr4evr11: It’s so yellow! It’s so bright! It’s a perfect ‘cloudy day’ ring – no matter how dark the clouds, your stone will always be bright.

It’s hard to describe. Heliodor is like aqua in looking ‘watery’ rather than flashy or sparkly (like garnets, sapphires and diamonds). It’s not really like emerald – neither heliodor nor aqua have the magic emerald glow.
 
It's gorgeous and a wonderful size!

@bright ice and others - is it safe to put this in an ultrasonic cleaner? I’m afraid to loose any of the melee. I mistakenly put my Tiffany Perreti curved band in it and 2 stones came loose . Luckily I noticed it before dumping the water out. Stupidly, did it again as I was in a rush and Just threw my rings in for a quick wash and it was too late when I realized I shouldn’t have done that. So sure enough 1 stone came loose. Thanks!

Thank you! I hear you but going from an 8.41mm to 10.2mm would be a HUGE price jump. And I thought 8.41mm is the max size I would go hahaha. Every time I tell my husband that this is it. ..this is my final upgrade…he doesn’t believe me .

@tyty333 - 8.41mm to 10.2mm ACA that is. I could only dream but in any case, I feel that a diamond in that size is too big ( gasp, is there such a thing here in PS? :))) for my lifestyle although it is a glorious size.
