Good Morning Ladies,
How is everyone doing today?

Jaime and I went walking for 75 minutes this morning, and it feels great to get moving so early in the day.

Virgina- did you and your bf hit the gym again today? I think it is awesome that ya’ll have made being fit a couples thing.

Rainbow Trout- great job with the treadmill that is awesome!

Stermag- How is your interval training going? What does that entail for you?
I was impressed that you were able to find a great jog bra, I cannot imagine having a rib cage of 27 and a bust line of 43,

I thought 32 to 41 was bad. Do you have back trouble?

Lorilei- it is okay to have a little treat everyone once in a while, you have been doing really well, enjoy your success.

Mrs Flutter, Buena Girl, AG and FFF- Ladies where are ya?

I hope everyone has a great day!

I was such a pig but that''s me and sweet things! I had pistachio almond icecream, Rocky Road and Caramel Ribbon with hot fudge and caramel sauce, cream nuts and cherries

Never mind, the beat goes on and I shall be extra saintly now to make up for it

You are doing a great job with the walking, I really want to get a treadmill sometime but Hubby thinks I will fall off it as I am such a klutz

Morning ladies.

I had my trainer this morning and did 20 minutes of cardio before she got there. I was super tired though -- I think my bf has a cold and was snoring all night long. No matter how many times I pinched, pushed or elbowed him, he wouldn''t stop!

I''ve been doing well on my eating... I pretty well all weekend eventhough we went out to dinner. I tried to make it up by exercising, but we''ll see. I lost another 1.6 pounds at my weigh in last Saturday! We''ll see how it is this week since it''s my PMS week and I usually gain. If I keep going at this pace, I''ll definitely reach my goal.

On the other front, I''ve quit my job so I won''t be on the computer as much. I''m taking classes towards getting a Master''s in Education. I hope it works out. I like the classes so far!

Hi all...Can I join you in your daily thread? It would be great to participate in an online daily support chat for working out.

I am an early riser and off to the gym by 5:30 usually M or T/W/F.
Saturdays are my toughest workout, usually 30" cardio and Weight-training:Legs

Today''s workout: 14" Elliptical 26" Interval running. 30" Weight-training:Back.

My current goal is for our big vacation escape sometime in September/Oct...though I would like to be looking good for the summer...lol It would be nice to shed about 15 lbs by May...The challenge for me is my diet...I love to eat...

I did post to the Friday thread but wanted to share a couple sites with you all.

First is http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/index.php.

Coz it is cool and sexy for women to "pump iron!" There is a ton of information and encouragement to be found.

Second is http://www.presidentschallenge.org/

I have belonged to The President''s Challenge since March last year. To date I have earned 2 bronze, 1 silver and 1 gold medal. I participate in the "Presidential Champions" program. But they have three levels to choose from. The program is free! Once you register, you log all of your activities. You create a list of selected activities you participate in. You earn points based on how long you do your activities and the intensity level(for most). Most workout days I earn around 550 to 600 points. You can earn a bronze medal in about 2 - 3 months. I know the incentives may seem silly, but somehow logging and racking up points can be fun. You can even do comparisons with other participants. The best part, if you like medals is that you can order actual medals once you have earned them. I ordered lapel pins and attached them to my workout pack. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Have a great day!

AP- 1.6pounds that is wonderful, keep up the good work. I hope you enjoy getting your MS!

Ah hello... Matatora....

There was a last minute change of plan this morning and we (a friend and I) did weights as opposed to my previously planned interval training session.

But to answer your question, interval training consists of (for me at least ) 50 meters of sprint at just about my max heart rate (~175-180) followed by 50 meters of walking. After that, it''s rinse and repeat (about 10 times) :)

Is 32 a 27" rib cage? Hmm... I guess that''s about right... now if I can just get back to a 27" waist...

I do have some back pain but it is usually during periods of inactivity, when my abs are weak. I also have quite a bit of tension around my neck, but I was recently told that having a properly sized bra, one that isn''t too loose and doesn''t put all the weight on the straps, will alleviate that. So far, so good.

Btw, everyone can call me Mag. I''m not used to my own user name and almost didn''t respond to it at first. :)

Hi All,

Do you mind if I join your thread? I''m really wanting to get in shape, eat healthy, etc.

I did 30 minutes on my exercise bike today. Hopefully I can get myself on it again later tonight!

I just did a quick 20 min run today after not working out for 2 days (ugh).

Matadora, have you heard anything from Baylor yet? The next month should be the beginning of interview season!

Did my 2 miles today with Portia even though I had to stop halfway through so she could visit for 45 minutes with dog after dog after dog!!! At one point there were ~9 dogs out there in a clump of parents. It was fun to see her run again though, it's been so cold lately that she hasn't seen as many friends out.

Also did my arm exercises and my stomach work this morning before my shower. Tonite is a splurge, my absolute weakness...Marie Calendar's chicken pot pie..yummm!!

Took in about 1900 calories today, burned of 300 by doing ten minutes on the elliptical and twenty five minutes on the treadmill. So that''s about 3 miles or so?

Quick question: does anyone know what the recommended caloric intake for a 5''7" woman whose goal weight is 135 pounds? Is 2000 calories too much?

Peony- Baylor sends out the invites in Feb, their interveiws are during mid to late March. They ask 30 people to interview, up to 6 are admitted. I am hoping/praying that I get in, and planning for what I will do if I dont.

Hey there. I asked my doctor about this. She told me that 2000 calories is about right for maintainance. 1400 - 1600 calories is good for weight loss...and of course moving ones body will really kick it into gear. Less in...More out!

Peace
Elise

OH! I forgot to add yesterday I did 40 mins eliptical and 30 treadmill walking 4.0 at incline 2.0. Not the hardest for walking, but I keep the resisitance on the elliptical at 9 except for the first and last 5 min where I keep it at 5. Plus I''ve been doing at least one 20 min pilates video every day. 4 pack is back! On the way to 6 hopefully if I can discipline myself to stick with!
