So after slacking off for WAY TOO LONG and walking a bit here and there I got up this morning and did 65 minutes of the eleptical machine and few weight exercises focusing on my upper arms.

How is everyone else doing?
 
Still seeing the trainer, but doing badly otherwise. I''ve officially had to go up a pants size, which sucks in so many ways, especially since I''m going to visit my bf''s mother this weekend and will have to be in a bathing suit and shorts for a week.

I might have to wire my jaw shut soon...

Good going on your exercise though!
 
See I was thinking I would use the in house vac system to suck out all the fat deposits (except my chest of course) to make cute for engagment pictures...

You''d look cute for your e-pictures no matter what! Just keep up the good work so you''ll be happy- everyone else loves you just the way you are!

I need to get back on the exercise wagon for ME and no one else! Right now I''m down about 20lbs from where I started with our workout threads but that 20 is just a drop-in-the-bucket. There''s a lot of work & personal stuff going on right now, so instead of saying I need to lose weight to order my wedding dress I''m just going to say I want to look good by next summer- maybe there will be a wedding or maybe I''ll be taking myself on a wonderful vacation! What will be will be.....

Walking from account to account in NYC is my main exercise right now but i do need to go back to some formal weight training and a little elliptical too....

Back on the wagon I go!
 
I''ve been really bad when it comes to working out lately. The cold weather just makes me want to eat and hibernate at home. I''ve lost 5 pounds in the last month, but haven''t been able to lose more because I can''t stop eating! It doesn''t help that it''s the holidays and there are so many parties too.

I haven''t been to the gym in two weeks and can actually feel my muscle tone turning into flab. I miss the endorphin high from regular workouts. Guess I''ll have to start again and stop hibernating, because the last thing I need is to store some extra fat!

And Mat, why IS it that when I lose weight, the first places I lose the fat is my chest and my butt? It''s never the belly rolls. I might take up on the vacuum cleaner idea if it works for you.......

I was hoping this thread would be revived!

I have been doing well. Down about 7 pounds in the last 5 weeks! Yeah for me! Today I went to a pilates class and did just 20 minutes on the eliptical. My mother is coming to town tonight, tomorrow is our annual cookie day. It is going to take everything in me not to eat dozens of cookies! I am going to try to chew gum as we bake so I dont eat too much!
 
The belly is the LAST PLACE to go according to my trainer. Now how is that fair?

I've been doing okay, working out at kbox 2ce a week and still doing some walking...nothing big but just trying to maintain through the holidays...because I have been loving the mashed potatoes and Sees candies...tee hee. So far so good, nothing seems to be adding on, and that's good enough for me FOR NOW. I do have more definition in my arms as well so that's a positive. Come Jan I will step it up a bit more and see what we can accomplish for spring and tank tops again....

It''s been a really long time since I''ve exercised regularly. I don''t like running or going to the gym. I walk about 10-12 blocks from my car to work and back. But that''s not really exercising.

I bought the winsor exercise ball to do pilates. I''m going to try that out. So far I''ve done it 5 times in the last 9 days and enjoy it. My goal is to do the 50-minute workout AT LEAST 3-4 times a week. I was having some back pain/tightness and I''ve already noticed a difference. I feel a lot better. Hopefully I can get a flat tummy and toned body too! We''ll see how it goes!
 
Yay, missed this thread! Seems like everyone is doing well, I have lost a bit more weight, I think it''s enough now, and I am being as saintly as I can so I can have a good feed over the holidays! Mat, my new jeans are now saggy around the bum!

Phew....feeling tired just reading about all this exercising!

The thing is that most of us have got our ''winter layer'' on at the moment. Here in the UK it is just below freezing (and that''s indoors!)

I don''t know about you guys, but after a while the gym gets so boring. The sea of pink lycra bobbing up and down on the machines and the up-tempo music playing in the background. Then there''s me, clinging on to a piece of equipment,wearing my baggy teashirt, looking like something the cat has dragged in!

In terms of weight loss, diets just don''t work for me. I lose weight, then the feeling of deprivation kicks in. I then end up over eating and back where i started.

The method that has worked for me has been to eat regular meals but towards the end of the day, my meals are only small. So i eat a proper breakfast, a good lunch and something very light in the evening. I bought smaller plates, hence, cutting down on portion size. The exercise regime involves walking instead of getting the car out and trying to be a bit more active. Like using the staircase instead of the elevator. Very subtle life changes really.

All in all, i lost about 3-stone, which i have managed to keep off for about 8-years now. I just think diets are bad in terms of general health, immunity and our psychological well being.

I guess i have made friends with food, and it doesn''t control me any more.

This is a real great thread. Its good to hear other peoples experiences and view points.

I went to Bikram yoga...I can''t procrastinate anymore now that I have to look good for my wedding...whenver that is.
