Good morning ladies.

How are we all doing? Coda do you feel better after your strenuous gym session? I have been too busy to eat properly what with one thing and another and haven''t eaten enough probably the last two days but I am hoping to get back on track soon. As for my water consumption, I have been back on the diet soda- very bad. I must make the effort again soon.

I am starting to really enjoy the weights for my arms, but I am not seeing any progress in terms of my weight. I am really stressed about the whole grad school issue. I dont imagine much will get done until then...I cannot stop thinking of where I will be in six months. Arg! I would really like to be a more shaply KK when I next see V.
I am super impressed with both Virgina and FFF! I just wanted to give them the big

Lorelei, I didn''t do my strenuous workout last night. I was pretty tired from jogging three miles on Tuesday that I took off last night. Tonight I will get back into it. I want to try the interval training that Stermag mentioned last week. I need something to relieve the boredom I experience on the treadmill.

I drink a lot of diet soda too, so I know how you feel. At least diet soda is better than regular soda!

Matatora, I find that when I''m stressed, that exercise helps relieve it at least a little bit, so try to keep up with the exercise. I know what you mean about not seeing results for the arms, I''m trying to tone mine up also, and it''s a long slow process.

Virgina, sounds like you''re doing really well! Keep up the good work!

Virginia, there must be something in the air today, because I, too, was completely wiped out and didn''t have the strength to really push myself. I had to wake up an hour earlier to take care of something at work, and headed to the gym afterwards around 8 o''clock... but boy.. am I having a hard time wrapping my head around anything this morning.

We did a 10 minute warm-up on a stationary bike and then did our usual free-weights routine, but it wasn''t anything to brag about.

My workout partner offered to take a day off today, but we forced ourselves to go, which was perhaps the biggest accomplishment.

Yesterday''s morning workout wasn''t all that productive so in the evening, before dinner, I ran 2 miles. Perhaps that''s why I feel so wiped out this morning - it was less than 12 hours ago that I finished the run and already I expected my body to perform.

Foodwise, I have been recording all of my intake on Fitday.com for the past 2 weeks. It is a very useful tool, indeed. I have been reaching my protein goals and have cut down my fat intake to ~50g a day. My carb intake is moderate, which is about right, and I''ve practically eliminated sugar and other simple carbs from my diet. Right now, the key is keeping a journal and noting how I feel on the daily basis and how much energy I have, so I can tweak these figures.

Sorry for the long rant, gals... I''m just thinking aloud.
I really need to wake up and get to work...

Happy Thursday!

coda72, you deserve a day off after a 3 mile run. I should have perhaps taken it easy today, and I only managed 2.2 last night (albeit outdoors, so it was hilly).

I enjoy interval runs much better than longer distances, unless running outside. I live in an area where EVERYBODY jogs, it''s almost ridiculous. People run with strollers, dogs, and sometimes both! In any given hour, whether it be 6am or 11pm, there will be at least 10 people running past my house. It''s unreal and if I''m not exercising, it really rubs my nose in it to watch all these people jogging outside my window.

But yes, I encourage you to try intervals runs. It does build up your endurance quite quickly.

Another 30 minute dog walk this morning and will do another 30 minutes of exercise bike again tonight. I''ve found that I actually like walking when it''s cold outside. Makes me move faster!

Of course California cold weather is different than most of the rest of the world, but still.

Just wanted to add, already I am getting results from my arm exercises. I had to lift a bale of hay earlier and I realy noticed a difference in how much easier it was

Those things are extremely heavy.

Yay Lorelei!! Arms are a drag but can be good when you see/feel results.

My arms have been really tired lately esp my right top shoulder from all the workouts and the things I am doing in-between classes...today I just feel kind of drained and am not sure if I can go workout..I may take a break tonite. We''ll see...we have wild rice and mushroom stuffed chicken breast tonite for dinner from WF....yum!

Stick with it gals (even as I try to muster up the energy to go to my own class!)...
