Good morning,
I completed my 4th workout this morning. I feel a little bad b/c usually it''s my 5th, but i''ll have to do something tomorrow. I am happy w/my week. I feel i''ve made major improvements this week, not necessarily weight wise but more long term..thinking more about my eating, writing things down, making actual decisions before I just eat something, drinking more water, etc... So that makes me feel good! Like i''m in a little more control.

Monarch, I appreciate the advice about eating certain types of foods. I just wish shopping for fruits and veggies was a little cheaper. Whole Foods is so expensive and I rarely find good stuff at the regular stores. But i''m willing to spend more for better quality..when I have the $ to spend!

Have a good Friday ladies!

Good morning! I fell off the wagon last night, lol!

DH and I decided to celebrate "Quatro de Mayo" and had some margaritas. My eating was fine yesterday, in fact I had a Weight Watchers southwestern rice and beans dinner and 5 tortilla chips with my margaritas, but I really threw my calorie intake off with those drinks! I also didn''t get a workout in, unless you count tug-of-war with the dog for 20 minutes?

Dixie, I think you''re downtown, right? Are you anywhere near a farmer''s market now that it''s getting nice out? I know there''s one in Lincoln Park...don''t know where you are exactly but I was just thinking after I read your post that it''s usually cheaper to buy from the market rather than the store. Oh, and do you garden at all? You can do container gardens of tomatoes, peppers, etc. if you have a green thumb at all... Also, did you know you can freeze veggies? I never knew that until a few months ago--one of my girlfriends told me. It really cuts down on waste.

Hope everyone''s having a buenos dias and happy Cinco de Mayo, ha ha!!!

So that means I must eat well tonight and workout tomorrow.
Actually, i''m in the near west suburbs so there are farmers markets here. And one is starting this weekend so I have been planning to go stock up. I''m actually looking forward to it! Funny the things we look fwd to as we get older... I don''t have anywhere to garden and really am not a gardener so I think i''ll stick to buying. I didn''t know about freezing. Just literally stick some veggies in a bag and put in the freezer? How long are they good frozen? You can freeze all vegetables? To defrost, just take out of the freezer and let it sit?

Thanks for all the tips!

Guess we''re the only ones here today.

Dixie, I found a whole list of how to freeze veggies. It doesn''t say, but I''m assuming to thaw them you can either leave them out, put them in the fridge, or defrost in the microwave...

Which farmers markets are opening? I''m in the west burbs too! I need to find a good one that''s closer to where we live now...the one I went to a couple years ago was out in Westmont.

There''s something called the French Market in Forest Park (Saturdays from 8-1..I think), which I assume is related to the Farmers Market. In Oak Park, it starts the end of May (or around there somewhere).

Thanks for the link! Freezing is a great idea.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies!

I went to the gym today to run my 3 miles on the treadmill. I was feeling a bit lazy during my first mile, so during the 3rd mile, I decided to sprint half of it! It was sooooo tiring & my legs are burning!

I think I am going to concentrate on some weight lifting this weekend, I''m not sure how much cardio I''ll do!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good job on getting to the gym on a Friday, Danielle! I''m proud of you!

I will try to post a weekend workout thread if no one else does tomorrow...Dixie???I bet you will be working out to get that magic "5" in, hee hee! I will be walking 18-19 miles tomorrow morning, I''ll let you all know how it goes! Bought my first hydration pack tonight at Sports Authority--I got the Camelbak Cloud Walker and I think I''m gonna be lovin'' it!

Have a great weekend!
