Good morning fellow fitness fans!!!

I have had a not so wonderful week as far as working out...I haven''t fallen off the wagon, just haven''t kicked butt. It was very cold and rainy all week (except for Wednesday, weird) so it was hard to get outside and walk like I had been doing. I have been working on my arms and core muscles all week, though, and everything''s coming along nicely in those departments. If it ever gets warm enough here to wear a tank top I''m in good shape, lol!

Tonight I have a lot of random errands to run and lots of laundry to do so working out may fall rather low on the priority list. I will be eating lots of pasta, though, I can tell ya that! Tomorrow I''m "practice" walking 20 miles again, and Sunday I''m doing 10 in preparation for the walking marathon I''m doing in a few weeks. I have really enjoyed not having to worry about dieting on weekends while I''ve been training for this walk since I''m burning so many more cals. than usual! I think I''ll have to sign up for another marathon after this so I can keep up my current eating habits, lol!

Hope everyone is having a FABULOUS FRIDAY!!!

Morning, all! We were good last night and went to the gym (after dinner and a few games of pool) -- I swear I''m never gonna get ahead if all I do is work out to offset us going out. So we made a plan last night to eat out no more than once a week and spend the $ on the gym membership (and spend less overall). Still occassional movies-- just as long as we can be together (my ex has the kids 2 to 3 nights a week, depending on the week). I think M so SEXY when he works out, so I''m all about that being our "together" time!

I swear if I had one of those elliptical''s at home I would live on it --- I love that thing. Back when I was training, I only cross-trained with weights and dance, didn''t need any cardio. Boy if I could have that metabolism back.....

Monarch, sounds like doing this marathon has been really good for your lifestyle. Why''s it cold where you are at?? (I forgot where you''re from) -- It''s hot and humid down here and I *Dread* wearing a tank top right now. I bet it feels good to look forward to that! I can''t wait to hear more about the marathon! (when exactly is it?)

Sk8r, good for you for committing to the gym membership--what a great compromise. I love it when my DH works out too, he looks HOT.

I''m doing the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Chicago June 3rd and 4th. It''s a two day walk I''m participating in with a team from my women''s only gym. We''ve been training for about 2.5 months now, because the first day of the Walk you do 26.2 miles, then sleep over in a Wellness Village (in a tent, yikes), and then the second day you walk 13 miles, so ~39 miles total. I''m really getting excited about it as it is my first "marathon."

I say it''s cold here (suburb of Chicago) because I''m just a big baby, lol! Lows in the 40''s and highs in the 60''s this week. And some cold rain, yuck. We had one nice day this week when the temp hit 71 degrees and the sun actually came out, but other than that the weather has sucked.

If I had my way, it would be blue skies, warm weather, and the occasional short rainfall all year. I guess I need to move somewhere other than the midwest, ha ha!

hi girls! well I am still recovering from my sessions with the personal trainer (3 more to go...this lady is killin me!) This mornin I was up at 530 and worked on cardio, arms/back/chest and abs. My abs are soooo sore. But its a good sore. Im still having a hard time cutting down my calories, the nutritionist wants me at 1300 cals a day and its so little food. Ive done it before so I know it just takes some getting used to. we also need to start cycling to practice for an upcoming charity bike ride we are doing next month. Im hoping I dont keel over on the bike path, Im so out of shape

I hate the first few weeks of getting into a routine/diet changes. even though I know I am doing something positive, my self esteem is at an all time low. I tend to be picking apart my physical flaws even more now than before when I wasn''t "caring" so much. I hope once I start shaping up I will feel better about myself!

This weekend I have to work so wont do much tomorrow but hope to hit a step class at the gym sunday before I head out to the DC Pricescope luncheon! Hopefully there will be healthy stuff to eat at the restaurant :) Im looking forward to that!

have a good weekend!!!!!

morning ladies!! everyone sounds so chipper...as i enjoy my cup of coffee and try to look perky.

i haven''t worked out ALL WEEK. i know! the slug life is really taking me over!!

but i don''t feel guilty because i have been doing some leg exercises and arm stuff all week long, just nothing super intense or cardio or anything. since i came back from TX i have been a mega slug. it''s also been really hot (finally cooling down) so it makes me just want to hide inside where it''s cool and sit on the couch and eat apples.

on the plus side, aside from 2 nights earlier this week, my eating has been fabulous and i am still tracking calories...so that is part of why i don''t feel guilty about not working out this week. anyway i really do need to get back into it, so hopefully i can go for a walk this weekend and then do kboxing next week, but i guess the rest is good for my arm (nice excuse!!)...but it''s good to hear you other ladies have been doing the workouts for me.

here''s a dessert tip...i have been obsessed lately with root beer floats but i don''t let myself have more than one a week because ice cream is so fatty etc. so yesterday i got some 1/2 fat slow churned breyers vanilla and did a root beer float with that, a smallish one, with about 1c of ice cream and 1/2 a root beer. the calories were only ~300 and it totally hit the spot and i had extra calories anyway from eating so well all day, so i was really happy with it!!! it tasted 99% like the real thing, hehee. i am not a fan of 1/2 fat ice cream by itself but mixed with the root beer it tasted fine. so it''s not like i am going to have one a night or anything, but at least now i can enjoy one when i want it rather than daydreaming about it and slapping my hand because it''s so bad for me.
