I am off to a decent start this morning with 9.34 miles. I hope everyone else is able to get the week off to a positive start.

Thanks, Matatora, for the positive wished & way to go with the exercise!!!!! You haven''t mentioned it, but I bet your clothes are fitting a lot looser

Are you feeling great as well? All that exercise, you must have the endorphins going big-time!

With the moving half-done and living in limbo, I''m not stressing about getting exercise right now (I have to break my gym contract so I won''t be going there anymore

,) but thought I''d concentrate on my eating. I had a new breakfast cereal this am that wouldn''t be for everyone but I like it- Raspberry Ginger by Peace Cereal co, its got little dehydrated berries w/ corn flakes, oat clusters and a nice gingery burn, I mean taste. It has a little more calories & fat than some cereals, but at least it''ll stick w/me, 200 cal, 3gr fat per cup w/o skim milk, add another 45 cal for a 1/2 cup.

Hope everyone has a great day!

We went home this weekend to go to a packer game with my family. I believe all i did was eat! So this week i need to get back on track, if not for my weight for my complexion. havent done anything yet, but plan on going to the gym shortly.

Mata, you always do so much. How long does it take you to walk 9 miles??? that seems so terribly far! but congrats!

Well Miss FFF, together you and I would drop the weight like their is no tomorrow. You seem to have the eating thing down pat and I could walk forever given enough water....I wihs I could say my clothes are fitting more losely but they arent. I am glad to be going home this week, but on some level I am dreading it as well. I dont want everyone to be dissapointed in me again.
Ms Flutter- It tooks me about 2hrs this morning. Times for walking depend on: how badly my feet are hurting me, traffic, if I like the book I am listening to and of course if I am thirsty I tend to move more quickly just to get more water.

Hey hey hey!

Good start for the day Mat!

I did my weigh in yesterday. I lost another 0.2 pounds. I did more exercise this past week than the week before, but my diet was terrible, so I''m very happy that I actually lost a little instead of gaining. I''m going to try harder this week to eat better.

I''m planning to do my usual 2.5 miles hike to the never-ending-stairs and get home to do some weights. Nothing special. Talk to yall later.

HI Ladies,

I''ve been a slacker, but after reading all your posts, the guilt is kicking in, and I had a good workout at lunch, and ate a salad afterwards.

I don''t remember the last time I weighed myself because I''m too scared to look at the numbers. Basically, I went from low-carb for months to an all-you-can-eat-carb diet the past week, and I already feel my pants getting tighter, and my chin getting pudgy!

I''m getting back on the wagon as of right now!

Milly those never ending stairs are tough, do not sell your self short! I tried to do those instead of the stair master but would get distracted by my audio books and loose my balance. You are doing great, you ought to be really proud of yourself.
Jaysonmom- I know how ya feel. Lack of will power lead me to eat an entire six pack of applesauce in one sitting over the weekend. I am not doing well with the eating habits in the least, with moves like that how can I really be surprised that I am gaining weight? How do you find the will to get through those firts few weeks of Atkins? I am thinking about trying that again as it is really effective when one has the will to stick to it!

I''m still pluggin'' along and happily seeing slow results...I have a little bit to go and that''s it...

Salad for lunch today, no breakfast but coffee (had a meeting) and dinner is chicken kabobs with veggies and some fresh mozzarella and tomatoes.

Will walk a few laps today when it cools off a bit.

Way to go Miss Mara! Whenever I read your posts it never seeems as if you are talking about a diet but really like this is a lifestyle. You really have it down pat dont you? Congrats on your progress!

Good job everyone!

I ran 28 minutes, 2.06 miles. And I did my first Abs class at the gym. 45 minutes! I''m going to be sore tomorrow!

Thanks Mat....it is a lifestyle which is pretty easy for 8 months out of the year, but it's very hard for me to sustain it in the WINTER months. That will be the true test...last winter I totally fell off the wagon and had pot pies, fish and chips and Wendy's literally all week long, did not work out at all, and gained 10-15 lbs. It hides well on my tall figure, but it was definitely there. So now that I have slowly gotten back to almost where I was last summer...I don't want to fall off again. Part of that is pre-planning. The big thing for me is that when it is warm out (at all) I crave salads and fruit. But if it is cold or gloomy (read all of November, December, January and some of Feb) then I want comfort food and warm things. So I am finding things at Whole Foods to replace my daily salads for lunch (aka they have a great Hearty Chicken Soup) and also have to come up with some warmer side dishes that are not fatty or too carby.

In my opinion, having done this 'back and forth' with eating and working out a few times, pre-planning is a huge huge help when you are trying to go long-term with a healthy lifestyle. I pre-plan my workouts, aka Tues and Thurs are my hard kickboxing wringmeoutlikeasponge workouts and the rest of the days if I can do a few laps then it feels good, and I can lift some weights. I have to pre-plan my meals so that I don't get 'distracted' and just eat whatever is handy. My coworker wants to lose about 20 lbs that she has gained since getting married and I come into the office and she is starving because she hasn't had lunch and she eats my extra 'bread' that comes with my salad (which I don't eat..the bread that is)...because she's starving. I just give her the look and she says I know I know but she doesn't bring her lunch the next day. I know what I am eating the day before..always, unless it's the weekends which are my 'free days'. I find it pretty easy to be good during the weeks if I know that I can be bad on the weekends. And I find I don't always need to be REALLY bad on the weekends anymore...just a little..aka I'll have fish but mashed potatoes too and that satisfies my 'potato' craving.

I guess for me it is easy to be EXTREME about it...so I have to keep that urge under control. Everything in moderation! I do NOT want to be in that same winter situation again, I felt like crap about eating so much crap and also felt like I looked like crap and nothing fit. It was not who I wanted to be...who I felt like I was. So I am determined to not do it again...I'm sticking with it and that is IT. The results are so worth it.

I will also say that it's been SO helpful for me to find a place like Whole Foods which offers REALLY YUMMY pre-;ackaged meals like the salads I get or their daily soups and they have alot of variety. So you can go and make a salad at the salad bar, or buy one of their 5-6 pre-packaged ones (large and small) and then get something from their ready-made deli (aka corn arugula salad, so yummy)...and they don't just offer the basic stuff at Safeway. I get our fish there, it's more expensive but it's fresh and they have great pre-marinated meats and things so it's just easy for us to have a good healthy dinner...quick to cook and easy for me to stay on track. I can get lunch for Monday, dinner for Monday and lunch for Tuesday all in one shot. It's just easy.

And if what I say in here can help other gals who are on that same yoyo track or trying to find their motivation....then fabulous..it's hard sometimes, but I am on a roll so I want to make this a permanent change.

Allright seeing a pic of CE belly makes me want to redouble my efforts. She must work out like mad...with a healthy

dose of nice genetics and plastics.

I went to a kickboxing/weight lifting interval class at the gym. I made broiled swordfish and salad for dinner, and only had one of the oatmeal raisin cookies my mother made for my bf''s bday on friday. I was feeling pretty good about myself.

Then that picture of carmen. how come some people have all the luck. I have a picture of her taped into the lid of my bf''s cookie jar (that is ALWAYS full of miniture candy bars) to try to keep me from eating.

Carmen does work out alot, she mentioned it in her show I think (we watched their wedding show)...she does that strip tease dancing I think.

Plus hello those pictures are SO always airbrushed. In reality I doubt she is that tan, or ripped or sleek or smooth in her everday life...

The one who makes me sick is Eva Longoria...she apparently has always been small and she eats like a horse and eats tons of crap apparently, aka cheeseburger and fries is a typical lunch for her...
