Daily Workout Thread- Mon March 20

Morning..
I decided to take Friday off and made myself work out Saturday morning to get in my 5th day. I am happy that I did and was surprised to find that it wasn''t as hard to make myself as it has been in the past. I think i''m sort of getting used to working out more and in the mornings. I actually woke up at 7am Saturday (which is absurd!!) but figured since I was up, better get it done and went and worked out. Took yesterday off and starting my workout week this afternoon at the gym.
I am tired though. I couldn''t stay awake past 9pm last night. Literally, my eyes kept closing so I had my bf tape Grey''s Anatomy and fell right asleep. Unfortunately, he only taped the 1st 30 minutes

but I still feel sleepy. Oh well... I took the day off tomorrow so i''m looking fwd to sleeping in.
Based on the scale (which I really don''t trust), I lost a lb. last week and have gone down a percent in body fat. I think i''m going down about 1% every few weeks. I''m trying to lose at least 3lbs./month, more preferably but don''t want too high of a goal and at least 1% a month.
How''s everyone else doing?
 
I think I''m going to join in this thread! BF and I got a family membership to our local gym a few weeks ago, and thus far, it''s been great. He kicked me out of bed yesterday so we could get there and it REALLY helped. During the week though, we can only go in the evenings, so when I read that everybody has already worked out it makes me feel guilty! I have an almost 2 hour morning commute though so the gym doesn''t fit in until I''m on my way home.

Tonight we''re both going. I''ll probably do 30 minutes on the bike, 15 on the treadmill, and 15 of stretching and abs. Then I''ll go home and pass out! :-)
 
yesterday i walked 3m at the park with portia and today i was going to do 2m around the park here at the house but it''s looking gray again outside, so we''ll see what this afternoon brings when i get out there. if its pouring i''ll be inside on the couch!!

the weekend was pretty unhealthy, hehee...we had gourmet restaurant burgers and fries on friday night, saturday night we had heavy mexican (mmm mmmm) and then yesterday we had fries and hummus for lunch snackies from this local falafel place and for dinner i had a whole foods basmati and butter chicken rice dish. i felt pretty bloated from all the carbs all weekend long! today my body looks back to normal. it''s amazing when i don''t eat that much of them during the week that i really notice it when i go all out on the weekends. but those fries tasted so good!

i also cleaned out my closet this weekend and seeing all these cute new clothes i have been buying go onto hangers and similar out of their shopping bags made me much more motivated!

anyway for lunch it''s a subway turkey sandwich and dinner will be salad and chicken.

I had a rather indulgent weekend as well. it was st. patricks day - so that meant beer -which i have been avoiding quite successfully otherwise. also, there was brunch. i love brunch!
i agree with mara, i definately feel it now when i overload on carbs. i haven''t cut them out of my diet, but they are limited. so, when i overeat like this weekend, my body responds. interesting.

i also didn''t do much exercising over the weekend, but last week i got in 4 cardio workouts and 3 pilates. a rest was in order.

back to the gym tonight.
 
I also had a more indulgent weekend. I travelled to a place that actually had ethnic restaurants (!!), so I overloaded on Thai, Korean, Indian, etc. I also couldn''t swim, because I didn''t have access to a pool. By Sunday, my tummy looked bigger than it did when I left...

I was able to get in 50 minutes yesterday, and 40 minutes today. I''ve spent the last two days trying to eat more fruits and veggies and eat less in general. I think some of the bloating''s down already.
 
Boyfriend and I watched a movie last night and subsequently I didn''t get to sleep until 2-3am. This morning, I opened my eyes at 5, paranoid that I would oversleep... and couldn''t get back, despite having an hour left. When I got to the gym, I was exhausted and my brain was only half awake. To top it off, they were refinishing the floors in the gymnasium and the smell was horrid - we managed to run 3 miles on a high incline, and called it a day. Btw, I don''t know how high the incline on the treadmills at my gym goes, but I was up to 11.5 and it still wasn''t at its highest. Shrug.

I have a bit of a headache now. Tonight, I''ll definitely be in bed before 11. Phew.
 
I think I may start posting to these threads too. More motivation never hurt anyone!

On St. Patty''s Day, my sweetie and I hit the bar to watch some NCAA games. I did not drink much, thank goodness. Friday is a tough day for me to go out with him and his buddies, as I usually crash around 10 or 11 and start sleeping on other peoples'' couches. Went to a concert on Saturday night and saw my favorite band - of course, more beer, but I danced like crazy and used my mini-stepper a little bit earlier in the day. I did not have a super active Sunday, but still managed a few minutes during Grey''s Anatomy on the mini-stepper. Going to aerobics tonight and I fully intend to push it the entire hour. I always seem sluggish on Mondays at the class, but I am going to try much harder today!
