I walked for 11.13 miles this morning. But I did not use any weights. Still not a bad way to start off a new week.

Well done Mat,

I am still being saintly

with food and drinking my 4 pints of water

I am definitely ready for new jeans, I always end up buying the high waisters and look like Simon Cowell

Good for you!

My eating habit leave alot to be desired. I know that is why I am doing so poorly with my weight loss. It must be a combination of diet and exercise, but food is so ful of comfort when I am stressed.

Good job ladies. I went to the gym did 25 minutes of eliptical then an hour long pilates class. The plan is to once again start south beach, i eat too much crap and cutting down on carbs seems just what i need. SO off to the grocery store i go!

Hi everyone.

I was bad this morning and didn''t exercise, but I was so tired that I couldn''t imagine moving. I slept particularly poorly last night for some reason. I did, however, exercise yesterday. I did 45 minutes of cardio. Felt good to do that. Tomorrow is trainer day, so I know I''ll get a good workout then.

I went to Trader Joe''s this weekend and bought all sorts of healthy, yummy things to bring for lunch. So, what I did eat for lunch today -- soup and an unhealthy wrap! I stupidly forgot to bring stuff with me!!! My bf has business dinners all week so I''m going to be eating by myself, which is never a good thing. I tend to binge big time. So, I''m going to do my best to not binge, or only on one night the most. I''ve been doing really well with not drinking while I''m at home, but I''m having that after-work-glass-of-wine craving already... so I might have to give in a bit.

Matatora -- I have the same issues with the food and exercise balance. Why can''t the serving size of french fries be equal to the serving size of broccoli!?

Way to go Mrs Flutter!!!
AP nice going to the gym when you dont have to. I know what you mean about the eating alone, I wish V was down here he eats really healthy foods and I tend to copy him.

In an effort to be a good girl I went and bought to stuff to make spicy chicken soup today it is think and warm and sticks to your ribs. Hopefully I wont give my self food posioning.

I really wish I had read this thread before I went and ordered lunch. Now I sit here, eating a grilled cheese with avocado and eek!!
23.gif
onion strings and-yes AND fries (it''s a 50/50). Cripes. Okay, not doing that again. At least one good thing, I''m a vegetarian, so I don''t have to worry about red meat. The bad side is, I don''t really like a lot of veggies.

I do walk a lot, though. I walk home from work every day. and that''s quite a ways. I wish my dog had longer legs, then we could go running.

Amber, you will learn none of us are perfect when it comes to food. Your lunch sounded yummy.....and we cant always be healthy!

I went to whole foods and got some crab stuffed tilapia for dinner and stuff to make a salad with, and some chix, mushrooms and snowpeas to make a stirfry tomorrow. I really need to make this healthy eating work.

Fi just called and said we are going to the bulls game tonight, no beer no hotdogs (must repeat to self!)

You can, you just have to work them up to it. Ava and I love go running sometimes, but sadly she can go a great deal farther. I can walk forever and spirt short distances. Try taking her out for shorter walks at first about a mile or two and then build up to four or five then try running half a mile and so on. Ava comes and sits vibrating if I say "walk" or "leash" she even knows when I spell them.

Hi everyone. I just did Cathe Basic Step. I'm also taking a 1.5 hr salsa dance class with my boyfriend tonight. My goal is to lose 10-12 lbs to fit into a gorgeous wedding dress (eventually)!

I weigh myself on Tuesday mornings, so I'll report the results tomorrow!

I walked 8.81 miles and when I got home I had the best surprise waiting for me!!!

Post soon.

OMG Crab Stuffed Tilapia sounds awesome...I wish my WF carried that.

On a really excited note, we just found out that there will be a WF opening literally up the block from us in a year. They already own the property. So I can WALK and get our dinner every night and my lunches etc. OMG I am sooo excited. Greg said we better start saving for the extra $$$ we'll be spending.

I adore fresh food and WF also has the best pre-prepared foods and warm foods also...I will never have to cook again..woo hoo!!!

I find that the real way for me to not eat unhealthily is to PLAN out my meals. I can do it in a few minutes now pretty easily when driving or something so that I don't binge on eating crap. Today I thought about Taco Bell for lunch because I could and I'm so close to my goal...but then I thought really what does that get me? In the end. I'd rather save that for a yummy dinner with friends and hubby or something. So I got hearty chicken soup from WF (YUM) and had a reese's cup (just one!) and some pommelo fruit. Now I'm waiting for G to get home so we can make dinner which is grilled marinated spicy chicken, my fave WF salad, and some rice.

I also have been walking alot more lately...about 1.5miles a day which is alot for me...I try to do it every day I don't do the kickboxing workout. I feel like my drive has been renewed since I have seen such positive changes in my body and I am SO CLOSE to being where I want to be. I really have extra motivation.

For the girls who do all this exercise and then don't eat right...you are sabotaging yourselves!!! Think about the time you are investing in working out and invest that same time in figuring out how to eat right. I know it's hard...trust me! I was there earlier this year when I was eating pot pies and mcdonalds every week and working out sporadically. Then I thought why even go workout? But that is total mental sabotage. I basically undid the last few years of hard work and eating right to have a few months of total loss of control and gained 10 lbs because of it.

You have to figure out your plan to success, what works best for you? Is it planning meals like it is for me? And going out to GET the right foods when you forget the right ones? I don't know...but it's sad to me to see you girls really pushing it on the workouts and Mata, you walking all these miles day after day and for what? Yes you are probably in better health lungs and heart wise etc...but the food is a huge part of it too. You have to take that second step!

Okay lecture over.

Mara, I totally agree with you about the eating-right thing! I was a varsity athlete in college, and even though I worked out 3-4 hrs a day I was 10 pounds more than I wanted to be because I was eating the crap in the dining hall. Now my wokrout routine is much more reasonable (30-60 mins, 4-5x a week) and because I''m eating healthier foods I''m actually losing weight.

I have a WF literally 2 mins from where I live, but I love to cook so I haven''t tried too many of their pre-made foods. I guess I should one of these days, what do you reommend?

BTW, pummelos are my favorite fruits!! Yum!

Oh I am so jealous! There is nothing like that near me.

I am terrible cook, I can bake just about anything but when I try to cook you only have a 50/50 of guessng what it is. I have gone to the local groceries but the pre-made stuff is chicken fingers, mac and cheese and other things I am trying so hard to avoid. I am getting frustrated I want something other then chicken with starts that I can make at home.

well my eating didnt go as well as i had hoped. Had a few mini 3 musketeers while watching las vegas. But the crab stuffed tilapia is awesome! The guys in the fish department always make ready to cook dishes and change them up all the time. YUMMY! I met my FI at WF so its a good excuse to shop there regularly!

Mara you are right about excercizing and eating right, i make it to the gym around 5 times a week, i always say i would weigh 220lbs if i didnt go to the gym, when i could say i would weigh 120 if i ate right. Instead stuck here at 135, eating crap and excercising all the time. i know the cycle, now i just need to break it!

peony i managed to lose a few pounds and still tighten up with a few months of just walking and crunches and not doing any intensive workouts because i had a pec that was healing...i did it mostly with the right eating habits. so yes eating well goes a LONG way...especially if you can't work out as much as you want to.

my kbox trainer used to tell me that you could work out for 5 hours a DAY if you wanted but if you still ate crap and did not have the right habits, you'd have a whole lot of muscle but underneath the FAT. he's so true. i always thought i just had a little belly but it was all those carbs i was eating. my body totally stores it there in my belly. now my waist is so much smaller..it's amazing. and i still eat carbs but like 1/10 of what i used to eat and after i eat a big meal i don't have a big belly anymore!

re: Whole Foods...I mostly get their salads (which I adore) and also they have GREAT very tasty (some are healthy) and hearty soups. I also love that they have small pre-made garlic and butter breads aka for 2 people so you don't have to buy a big loaf and let it all go to waste (since we rarely eat breads)...they also have tons of prepared deli food which is very tasty like veggies and things like that, and also they have warmed foods like mac and cheese, pasta primavera etc...but i rarely get those. they also have a great huge salad bar if you are into making your own salads, and also have other premixed salads like cabbage crunch with vinaigrette (which is pretty yummy as a side salad with dinner)...

I also get their pre-marinated meats, they have this awesome marinade called Souxie Wow and it's a spicy yummy marinade that is great on chicken and meat...but we mostly have chicken. I also get fish, they have great tilapia and other types of fish. I have to tell the guys at the WF about the crab stuffed tilapia and see what they say. They also will marinate any meat in any of their marinades for you on the spot if you want them to. I just like how easy it is to buy stuff and make a whole meal quickly from it.

Okay end of WF love and praise...I just really like it as a store, it's fun to shop there, they have alot of fresh, great items that you can't find elsewhere. You do spend more sometimes esp on the fruits/veggies and meats but it's quality stuff. I am SO excited for the one that is coming!

i get pre-cooked frozen shrimp to use instead of the typical chicken. i also but the flavor tuna packs. i use those often for a meal base. i also have to add that i don''t eat meat. so sometimes that ''s the real challenge.

but, just tonight i made a spegetti with a mushroom meatless marinara. i through in herb and garlic flavored tuna. i know it sounds wierd, but you have NO idea that''s what''s in there. i don''t care for tuna in a can normally- the flavor packs are so different.

anyway- my point was that you can buy this anywhere. i really wish my town had a whole foods!! i go every once in a while to the one that''s an hour away. but it would be awesome if it were here!!!
