Well I know that we don''t typically post much on the weekends, but I figured I''d start a post since I just did 2.5 miles around the park and it''s sunny, YAY!!!

So hope everyone else is having a good weekend, I had my twig fiber cereal this morning with banana but the real treat is dinner, we''re going to a local seafood place that we love with my parents before Greg has a charity concert, so that should be fun, corn chowder here I come. Glad I did something productive today...hehee.

Inspired by Mara, I went on a walk this morning. It''s gorgeous outside, 75 degrees and sunny!

I''m so glad someone started the thread today!!!

I had my race this morning, I finished in 35:45!!!!

I don''t know how I ran so much faster than I''ve been doing on the treadmill. But it was tons of fun & I can''t wait for the next race (April 29th!).

It''s beautiful here today also - yay for nice weather all around

I did not get to walk this morning with my group! The weather was so friggin'' windy and off-and-on rainy, and we usually walk through a forest preserve full of huge trees, so the threat of being knocked unconscious by falling branches was too great. Boo! Hubby and I are taking the dog for a long walk tomorrow to make up for it. I did get some spring housecleaning done at home instead this morning, so I wasn''t completely inactive, though.

Thanks for starting a weekend thread, Mara. I checked PS this a.m. to see if anyone had started one, but they hadn''t, so I was glad to see this tonight! Good for you for upping your mileage today!

Blenheim, good to hear you were able to get out and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather! Hopefully the exercise will keep your back limber--I''m proud of you!

Danielle, congrats on the race! That''s awesome!

Danielle, congratulations! That's awesome! I find that I can push myself a lot harder when I'm running with other people and feeding off of their energy, so your really fast time makes sense to me.

Monarch, that sounds like it should be a pretty walk when it's not so incredibly windy. And thanks!

My doctors set so many exercise restrictions, but still want me to maintain muscle tone as much as possible. Fit people tend to recover more easily. I'm trying to be as compliant a patient as possible, because I just want my back to get better! My main goal is to prevent muscle atrophy, which is a pretty sad workout goal. Ah well.

Blenheim, preventing muscle atrophy as a goal while you''re facing surgery is not a sad goal at all! It''s so refreshing to read your posts and get the sense that you are going into all of this with such a positive attitude, and also that you are taking such good care of yourself! I think you''ve been very courageous and responsible so far, especially because you seem to care so much about your health and are following doctors'' orders. So many others would rather take the easy way out, or back down when faced with such scary decisions. You seem to have taken the bull by the horns, and for that I commend you! Recovery will be hard and will seem long, but with your attitude you can do ANYTHING!!! Cheers!

i actually didn't walk my 2m yesterday because it was raining cats and dogs and freezing, though i did do 1/2mile after dinner last nite just to settle my food a bit since i was stuffed, so today was really yesterday's walk and then a bit more!

tomorrow i plan to do 2-3m depending on weather (guess what? more rain tomorrow night! UGH!)...on sundays we have a huge breakfast with sausage, eggs, english muffins, hash browns, mmmmm my fave is a naughty breakfast on the weekends....so sundays are typically my worst days so if i can get even a bit of exercise it's good. but i'm not hard on myself on the weekends, since those are my reward days!! tonite had i corn chowder..yummy but a little hard on the stomach.

Thanks to my "pushy" BF (he LITERALLY pushed me out of bed) I got to the gym both days this weekend. It was exhausting but I feel really good. I think this couple''s membership is working for us.

It did feel funny to drive by the park to go to the gym on this beautiful day... but we''re still kind of afraid of the people in the park right now.
