Morning ladies,

I think that our thread didn''t make it out yesterday, so I hope that everyone is doing great.

last weekend was a success in terms of limiting bad food and alcohol. i took a much more moderate approach and was really glad about it. I did pilates over the weekend and it was good to get back into it and my stomach muscles seemed to be okay with picking back up the routine.

yesterday, i ran for 2.5 miles and it was fine.

so far 17 lbs lost.

Good morning! Thanks Lulu for starting the thread...I didn''t get around to it yesterday, unfortunately. Congratulations on your 17 pound loss, that is amazing!!!! Big pat on the back for you!

I walked the 20 miles on Saturday even though it was rainy, cold, and basically miserable. My legs are still killing me. Lots of ibuprofen is helping though...I even did another 5 miles by myself on Sunday, just to see if I could. (The marathon I''m doing is 26.2 miles on Saturday, and 13 miles on Sunday). I think I''ll make it. I took that Monday off work, thank goodness!

Last night I walked a little over 2 miles and did some weights at home. I''m starting to see some great definition in my arms, which is nice. They were turning a bit blubbery there for a while, lol! I have biceps and triceps again now--yay!

I''ve actually had to increase my calories a bit with all the walking I''ve been doing. I lost another 2 pounds last week, so I''m at a total loss of 14 pounds right now (since I started my "diet" at the beginning of Feb.). I feel like I''ve gained a few pounds of muscle, for sure...my goal at this point after some re-evaluation is to try to lose 10 more pounds by the last week of June. I think I could drop the rest in the next few weeks, but it seems like every time I really kill myself to lose weight I end up gaining it back. This time I''m aiming for keeping it off for good--my parents have been yo-yo dieters for as long as I can remember and haven''t ever really made the complete lifestyle changes they need to. I want to be able to teach my children healthy habits by example, I guess.

OK, that''s my report for today, lol! Hope everyone is having a great day!

thanks monarch! it feels really good to actually shoot for a goal and make progress. i''m about 4 lbs or so away from where i want to be for the wedding (july) and maybe 10 lbs or so away from where i''d like to end up. i think it''s all very possible and i totally agree about NOT yo-yo dieting!

for me, i have definately eaten pizza, pasta, ice cream, etc. during my *lose weight* phase, but i''ve been much more conscious of eating less of it. I think that moderation in my diet, combined with consistent exercise is what works for me. because then i''m not depriving myself, just balancing.

many congratulations to you for you''re own weight loss!!!! and especially for walking 20 miles. in nasty weather. and then another 5. impressive. i''m glad you had a recovery day on monday, but it sounds as if you''re in great shape for the main race!!!

Well, guys, I have FINALYY jumped on this bandwagon. I''ve been a bit more inspired lately to do more (for a couple of months all I was doing was jogging/walking a couple of blocks after my kids got on the bus in the morning. lately I haven''t even been doing that!)

I''ve been bugging my bf about going to an actual gym b/c I love to work out with weights but I hate cardio. You''d think since I coach skating I look like a skater, but my skater body disappeared a long time ago when I started having kids and it''s gone downhill ever since.

Anyway, we visited some gyms last week and I started doing a little bit at home and then yesterday we went and worked out for the first time. We are on free passes right now b/c this place is a bit more $$ than the others, but it''s close too. I''m SO SORE!!!!!!!!! But I feel great!

We''re talking about a spring wedding in Hawaii, so I need to focus on actual weight loss as well as toning. So glad you guys are here!!!

congrats ladies!!

i have been the world''s biggest SLUG since getting back from texas!

i only walked 1.5 miles last week and did a big fat load of nothing yesterday and probably will do nothing today. it''s REALLY hot out now and it''s totally draining me of energy, gotta get used to summer suddenly being here after we had like 3 months of rain.

anyway, my eating has been really good except for 2-3 meals over the weekend (dinners of course) and dinner last nite but i think i am doing okay because i am eating less for breakfast and lunch so it''s keeping my calories in check for the most part. this morning i was feeling a little green so i just had coffee and a banana.

stick with it gals, and kudos on the weight loss lulu and monarch, yay!! bikinis here you come!

wow-17 pounds is brilliant! Im just about to go and join my first Weight Watchers meeting now-I decided if I have to wait a year I might as well look great when he eventually does do it!
Wish me luck

Hi Everyone!

Well, I haven''t been working out either. Last week, I only went to the gym once, then the gym is closed all weekend & yesterday I woke up with either a really nasty stomach virus or a small case of food poisoning

. I''ll spare you all the details, but I will tell you that all I''ve been doing is lying in bed & sort of sleeping for the past 2 days.

Anyway - congrats to those of who working out & losing weight!! Hopefully I''ll be able to get backto the gym soon enough
