Yesterday was so good till after the Beck concert and my darling bf decided to stop at Taco Bell of all places! Ahhh...what you can justify after a few drinks. So I split nachos with him and ate a taco and went to bed determined to get up and go to the gym.

So my bf dropped me off at the gym at 7 and I worked out for an hour(45 min precor 15 min abs) and came to work. Then when i got to work and pulled out my lowfat yogurt the chef came in with fresh baked lemon cookies.....agghhhhh.... will I never succeed?

Ms Flutter- of course you will succed, it is simply a matter of time. You are working out daily, and if nothing else that will increase your muscle mass allowing you to burn those Taco Bell calories more easily. I cannot off the top of my head recall exactly what your long term goals were, sorry. But exercising is often for many people the more difficult task, you have taken hold of it and are doing great! Now you just need to work on your eating habits, what about relaxing a litle bit. It is not the end of the world if you go to Taco Bell once in a while, just dont go back tonight. If you do not allow your self any of those yummy foods with out feeling bad they will just be that much harder to resist ie "Well I am already screwed for the day, why not have a bit more?" I dont know the secrets to will power of self control when it comes to food...if I did I would be uber thin and happy to share. Feel good about that hour in the gym!

I would never be able to work around all that food! I''m just now learning how to get over my ''if it''s in front of me I must eat it'' problem.

I had a long workout at the gym today. I got down there around 6:40 AM, with my trainer coming around 7 AM. She came a little early so I didn''t get as much cardio in as I wanted, but still not bad. We had a tough workout, especially since the owner of the studio was there evaluating both her and me and my progress. They''re trying to find different ways for me not to be discouraged that I haven''t lost 30 lbs in just a month. I really do hope I can lose some weight before my vacation in November. Although, it is a little comforting that the other woman going with us (with her husband) is bigger than I am. Isn''t that horrible??!!

I''ve gone out to dinner and drank for probably the last 7 or 8 days. Today I''m going to take it easy. My bf has a work thing so I think it''s going to be just me and some tv and sushi tonight.

AP- Way to go with the tough workout! What sort of things are ya''ll working on? Do you feel more toned? I dont think anyone loses 30 pounds in a month without surgery or a major disease. Perhaps you are setting yourself up for disapointment that way. Enjoy your night off!

Oh, I fully don''t expect to lose so much weight in such a short period of time. I''m just disappointed that it can''t happen.

Instant gratification sort of stuff... typical New Yorker I guess.

When I''m with my trainer I do some cardio and lots of lunges and squats and pilates stuff. We do some weights, but not that much. You can definitely see some toning going on in my upper body, but it''s as though my belly and thighs are resisting all efforts. I just need to suck it up and do more cardio... I hate it though!

Amanda, sounds like you are doing good. I enjoyed going to a trainer, but I cant justify the money on it right now. I did learn alot from her though. Now I am just trying to go to enough classes and do enough cardio not gain any weight. I do think I am toning up more, everyone keeps asking how much weight I have lost.... NONE in the past mont.

It is hard working in a restaurant. The sweet temptations are unreal! And it doesnt help that all the ladies in the ktichen keep telling me i''m too skinny as they are feeding me poundcake and chocolate teacups filled with rasberry mousse. I just made an announcement to them that I am on a diet, that way if i go in there to get food they will tease me about my diet. We will see if this works.

Yup, a trainer is definetly worth the money. I saw one 3 times a week for about a month when I first strated getting on this "in shape" bandwagon a few years back. Course mine was paid for by someone else so that made a big difference...

Good start today, got extra sleep again last night! I think the weather change is hitting me hard, I''m so tired this week! Yogurt and granola for breakfast with toast and some jam. Salad for lunch in a couple hours and then I''ll be at the gym after work where it''s shoulder and back workout day with 30 minutes of cardio after.

I''m bound and determined not to mess up like I did yesterday. I have a rough weekend ahead in terms of food so I need to do extra good this week.

Msflutter, you are a petite little thing! I just saw your picture in the photo album post, and you don''t look like you need to lose a pound!

My dear husband decided to surprise me with my favorite pie last night. He bought a WHOLE caramel pecan silk pie from Baker''s Square. It''s so deadly....there''s 3 layers on that pie. It has a layer of caramel pecan (like a pecan pie) then a chocolate silk layer like chocolate pudding, and then topped with a cream cheese layer. I ate a huge piece (about 1/6) of the pie, and will pay for it for the rest of this week! So much for the 2lbs I''ve lost since last week

I''m planning my usual lunch workout and salad from TRader Joe''s today. We''ll see how that goes.

Oh my lord... I am so hungry now that my stomach just slapped me in the face and screamed FEED ME!

I will eat healtfully. I will eat healthfully. I will eat healthfully. (I''ll check in after lunch to let you know how it went!)

Oh yummy!!! I want some...just a little slice...I went 5.39 miles and I think going in the noon day sun is a bit of a bad idea, but everyday something happens and I seem to get delayed...So hungry!

Well, I was very good and forced myself to get a salad instead of that yummy hot roast beef that looked so delicious. However, the make-your-salad guy put WAY too much (fat-free) dressing on. So, I couldn''t really finish it. I also got some fruit and nuts for dessert. Luckily, after feeling like I was being starved to death, I didn''t eat that much and am still full. I''m sure I''ll be hungry again soon though...

Worked out last nite with lots of sweat so that was FUN (not).

Had my eggs and coffee this AM and then just had my WF fave salad for lunch. Snack will be watermelon (I'm currently obsessed with it as it's super sweet here now and its so hydrating!). Dinner will probably be chicken burritos..yummy night.

I'm going to walk this afternoon a bit and stretch out muscles from last nite..the last thing I need is to get hurt again. My pec was kind of sore last nite so I did alot of stretching.

I did 40 minutes of cardio today, as opposed to my usual 30-35 because of the $#*% pie! Because of the extra cardio, I only did about 50 ab crunches time was up.

For lunch I tried yet ANOTHER salad from Trader Joe''s. It was a Italian country salad....just romaine, shredded carrots, diced red bellpepper, white cannoli (sp?) beans, and a tiny bit of shaved parmesian. The dressing was a garlicky italian vinegrette. I felt pretty healthy after lunch because there was no lunch meat/bacon bits/chicken in the salad....but boy, its 3PM and I''m hungry already!

Those Trader Joe salads are tiny! I get the Whole Foods ones which are much larger or else I feel hungry and snack in the afternoon and usually not on great things. The WF salads keep me full til about 6pm and then I have a fruit snack til we eat usually at 8pm. I''d rather eat 1.5 the amount of lettuce and salad than something I shouldn''t be later because my portion was too small!
