Well, once again I will ignore the people who feel this is stupid and useless and post my workout!

I met with my trainer today and I have nothing but raves about her. She really pushes me, and in a good way. We did a lot of weights and lunges and squats (oh my poor legs) but also did jumping jacks and stationary bike in between to keep my heart rate up. So, it was a combine weight/cardio for an hour!

She is going to help me design a pool workout that combines swimming and running and other exercises in the pool. I''ll probably start that next week.

I would love to do the weekly/monthly weigh-ins with everyone, but honestly, I''m terrified. I haven''t weighed myself in a long while (I have a scale but the battery is dead and I haven''t replaced it). I''m worried that my weight is about 10 lbs what it was last time, and I was mortified last time... So, I think I will set a goal of September 1 and then I will get a battery and weigh myself.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Amanda, Yay for your new trainer--a good one can make all the difference. Way to go

(I''m just bumping this workout thread in the hopes that it will see a bit more traffic than a certain *other* one which, I believe, ALL sides of the coin want to see go away!!)

YAY Amanda - sounds like a great workout. Man, lunges just KILL me!! I can handle squats pretty well, but lunges.... ugh. I have a workout video filled with tons of lunges and squats - I dread it but feel great the next day! Sore, but in a good way!

I am on my way out the door - got to run errands & then going to the gym... going to the gym... going to the gym... It''s my mantra or whatever - if I keep saying that I''m doing it, I''ll do it right?

Keep it up ladies - no matter what your goals are, exercise is good for you regardless of whether you are in it to lose weight, look & feel great, firm & tone, be healthy, or stave off the effects of aging - it''s all good & all are welcome to post their workouts, successes, struggles, weaknesses, goals, & emotions. And, if you happen to be someone that doesn''t understand the need or the motivation behind this thread - that''s alright too, different strokes for different folks, right? Just please try not to knock those of us who do find it a positive and helpful resource, please?

Cool? Cool.

i don''t weigh myself much either. i feel i can feel the difference regardless. i don''t need a scale to depress me. Besides, with weight fluctuation, and muscle weighing more that fat--

Hey everyone!

My plans for working out tonight is doing 3 miles on the elliptical (25mins), and actually finish my whole pilates routine (25 mins). I work out at home and the only machine I have is my elliptical, so that''s the main thing I do for cardio. As for the pilates, I hope it works as well as they have it advertised. I guess we''ll have to wait and see the progress after a month.

Amanda, I''m with you. I''ll do my weigh in on Sept 1st too! Wait...no, that''s not a good day because I''m PMSing that week, which means I''ll be bloated and retain water. Hrm...I''ll weigh in on Aug 26th. I''m the type that is happy even if I lose only 1 pound!

BTW, this workout thread is so fun!

Well, my bf and I took 3 of the dogs on a walk, so that was the exercise today. Cardio plus the "weight training" of pulling back 50+ pounds of poodle on a leash!!

I went into the city today. Walked around for about 10 hours. But it was a lovely day and I had a super good time!
AP- I loathe lunges, I got to were I was doing them with 12lb weights in each hand and they still killed me....I like your goal for weighing in. I know by September that you will have something positive to report!

Milly- It sounds like you are off to a great start! 50min a day is awsome! I love my parents eleptical trainer but alas my apt is too small to have one.
BG- Walking the dogs totally counts. I think that exercise like that is easier to intergrate into your life becuase it is soo nice for puppy too!
teebee- I hope the gym went well for you.
FFF- I loved our walk in NYC that was really fun, you are such a positive upbeat lady!

Wow - i wish it were nice enough here to walk around for 10 hours... i think my workouts suffer in the summer because of the obnoxious heat here... I mean, I leave the house & I''m sweating w/in 15 seconds & then going to the gym to sweat some more doesn''t appeal to me when it''s 100 degrees out. But, to even it out, my eating is always healthier in the summer - heavy, rich foods just sound disgusting this time of year.

Anyhow... Spent about an hour total doing cardio so yay!!

Milly ~ I love ellipticals so I''m jealous! I used to have a Bowflex & loved it (but the rowing/cardio was useless) but had to sell it last year when I moved in w/ FI. I hope that when we get into our new house next month I can find some $$ to get an elliptical - I''m so excited that I''ll finally have room for working out!!

Blueroses - Yup, hanging on to that leash definitely counts towards strength training and cardio!!

And... as for weighing in... I''m avoiding that for a while too... I''m doing pretty well & I don''t want to get discouraged if the scale doesn''t reflect my progress. I''m really trying to break off the nasty relationship we have with each other...
