Has anyone ever been to Dallas Market to look at diamonds? I have a chance to gain access to market and wanted to know if that was a good place to get a decent deal on a diamond. Market is where retail stores get merchandise, so I am wondering if this is truly a wholesale opportunity. Just curious.

if you were a retailer would you buy from someone who would sell at the same price to you as to a consumer?

Wholesale direct to the public is an oxymoron - it does not and never did exist

The Dallas Market does have some credntial requirements, but we all recognize the credentials can be obtained as many consumers are able to get in and buy.... It is a very attractive notion that you are a special customer and not a regular customer. Don''t be tricked by it.

When it comes to furniture or decoration items, these wholesale market places can be a way for people "in the business" to purchase small amounts of specific merchandise at somewhat less than full retail. It just isn''t quite the same when it comes to diamonds. Anyone with a little effort can buy a diamond very near wholesale price range. Mark-ups can be virtually nil if you know what you are doing and don''t care about high end treatment of the ego.

Thanks for the info... I have been told by a couple people that the saving was anywhere between 5 and 8 %, considering I am approaching the 30K mark, this would be helpful. I am glad someone could correct me. Is there anyway to buy a diamond at wholesale? who do jewelers buy their diamonds from? I started looking and went to jewelers row in chicago and went to a friend of friend who sells to jewelry stores from his store, Is this as close to wholesale as I am going to get??
