I''ve picked my setting and am now deciding on a diamond.

It''s a 3-stone setting. I''m looking for a diamond in the .5 - .6 range and would like to spend $900 - $1200 for it. But, I need help figuring out the right color & clarity for my price range.

I would definitely like "near colorless" and no flaws to the naked eye. Is there a huge difference in a AGC-0 diamond...or is a GIA just as good? Excellent? Very Good? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, I thought you were looking at rounds.

That one isn''t in-house.

What about this one?

WF only gave this stone one star. I''d pass on it and look for a better cut. Cut is even more important than clarity and color because it''s a great cut that will make it sparkle. If you stick with expert selection or ACA like the ones stonecold suggested you should be fine. I vs2 is good though. You can drop it to SI though to save money or go bigger. Just make sure with them that it''s eye clean to your standards.

$1.2k is for the diamond only.

I''ve narrowed it down to 2 stones. An E color SI1 (EC) or an I VVS2 (ACA). The EC diamond does have a little circle on the picture (crystal?). Thoughts?

Do you have the links for each please? It is up to you of course, but maybe see if there is anything higher colour and lower clarity, for example G or H colour and VS clarity.

Yea, I prefer the E as well. However, I was concerned that the picture has a "crystal" symbol on it. Is that a big concern? I''m going to atleast ask if it is eye clean.

I do like your diamond, as well, but I was hoping to stay above .55 -- as my original goal was 5/8 and I''d like to stay as close as possible (without sacrificing too much quality).

The crystal might not be visible to the naked eye, if not then it is of no concern at all, ask the folk at WF if it is eyeclean as they will be able to tell you for sure.

Thats fine if you prefer to stick to .55 and above, that knocks the I VVS out of the running too, but just so you are aware, you wouldn't notice any difference for size between the .54 H VS and the E SI.
