decision making help

Ladies,
Very glad to be here. I am looking for some decision making help.
I am trying to decide between halo earrings from costco

and a solitaire pendant (looking at .91 F VS2 specs) from bluenile.
I feel like I will get more usage of earrings than the pendant. I have two other pairs one from Bluenile (.88 TCW studs) and 1.5 CTW hoops from costco. love both and wear them often.

I have two young kids and any jewelry that can be pulled is a little hard to wear, though I love the idea of a solitaire pendant.
