#2 has a better length to width ratio....but in comparison to #1, that's all it has going for it. I'd definitely pick #1...smaller table and depth...larger diameter...its going to look bigger than #2. the length to width is 1.04 for #1 and 1.01 for #2...1.04 still looks really square!

congrats!!

Thanks Colleen!

I'm leaning towards an X-prong setting, most likely Vatche. We shall see...
Thanks again!

Very pretty choice! You'll have to post pictures when its all through! I just love the square shape and it will look great in that setting. Does it have sidestones?

Colleen

Nope, no sidestones.

Classic solitaire. Possible channel matching band however. Thanks again!

#1 should be a charmer with all going for it. It should be plenty square (you could check the 'look' of this on the Fancy Shape Sellector at gemappraisers.com if in doubt) and the smaller table does represent a strong argument for me over the other stone...

Oh, and then there is the size... #1 should look larger

do you have ideal-scope images for these diamonds?
That would be the deciding factor for me.

I like # 2 for these facts:
1)the stone is very close to a perfect square.
2)I hate small tables on princess cut diam.
3)I like the depth and table to be around the 70's ,that gives the stopne much more fire and brilliance

Thanks everyone! Went with #1

CJ, I have to say that it looks as if everyone was correct about how big that stone was going to look. It really does look huge on her hand! I just love a classic solitaire, and that princess stone is really beautiful. So glad she said yes. Congratulations.
